Question before first tri tomorrow

Extreme Veteran  371   Montreal |  Subject: Question before first tri tomorrowI have a question before my first tri tomorrow. I am wearing tri shorts under my wetsuit, but I have a question for the top. I do not have a tri top yet. I have 2 cycling jerseys, one which is tight and one which is looser. If I put it on at T1, I guess I would be better off with the looser one since its quite easy to put on. I know Bear usually mentions that putting on a top in T1 is quite a hassle, that's why I would go with the looser one. The other solution is to wear the tighter jersey under my wetsuit (I am renting a sleeveless wetsuit for the race), but I wonder how it would feel under the wetsuit, will it be comfortable. Keep in mind the swim is only 500m. By the way, I need to wear a top, its a race rule, and its supposed to be about 55-60F. thx in advance Patrick |

Personally I'd swim in the tight one, but you really should try both options: swimming with the top under the wetsuit and putting on the jersey when wet. |

I know, I am bringing a sleeveless shell just in case. And Bear, we have special swim caps that keep our hair parted to the right, actually in Canada its more to the left. Thanks to both of you. |

It took me forever to get the shirt on. My transition was incredibly slow becuase of this. I would definately try to wear something under the wetsuit. Mark |

I don't see that rule among the USA Triathlon rules. There is a prohibition against public nudity, but nothing that says "women must wear a top while swimming" |
