Ok, so this one is still 6 months out but who's planning on going? I've done several tris and one half marathon but this will be my first full!

I'm doing it.  This will be my 5th time.  I've done 3 half marathons and finally got my first full last year.

They have a B52 medal this year.

I know! I'm excited... but my excitement stems mainly from the fact that I'm coaching/leading the Minot AFB team. My squadron commander has told us that we have to go "represent" since its our jet on the medal.

This will be my 1st full.  I've completed 3 half marathons.  Picked Air Force Marathon as it's looks to be well organized/supported and a reasonable drive from home (about 3 hours).  18 week training schedule started yesterday.

I just signed up today for the Half. Even though I was in the Army, I have never been a runner and I want to get over that so I can become a better Triathlete. I am doing the Army 10-miler in DC (10 years and 1 month to the day I got out) and I want to run the entire thing so as part of my training program building up to that this event fits in perfectly. I doubt I'll be able to run it all without walking some, but I am a fighter jet and military plane junkie so I know this whole thing will be ridiculously motivating which is a bonus to why I decided to do it. I WANT ONE OF THOSE MEDALS!!!!

Anyone know a good/cheap place for lodging? Walking or riding my bicycle to the start from a hotel would be ideal if possible rather than battling traffic and parking.

I'm signing up for the full Marathon.  This will be my first, but I've done 2 half's this summer already.  I'm actually moving to Columbus from Des Moines in a month and I've been looking for a good marathon to be my first.  My wife might also run with me if we can find a babysitter in a new city where we don't know anyone (ideas...???).

I'd be really interested to hear from anyone who's run this what it's like.  I Google Earth'd the course and noticed that long stretch of runway, which doesn't seem like a lot of fun, but the finish looks awesome!  It also seems relatively flat from the official map's altitude box.

I did get a kick out of seeing how seriously they take their security there as far as all the hoops you have to jump through to have someone else pick up your packet for you.  I guess I understand the added security, it being a military base and all.

What pace is everyone hoping for?  I ran my 2 half marathons around 7:50 pace, so if I could actually keep a full marathon pace under 8 minutes I'd be pretty happy.  See you all there!

Me, my wife, and my dad will be doing this half this year.  It'll be my first distance run (I'm new to the tri scene....loving it!)

Is it selfish to treat a half marathon as simply a training day for the HIM you are looking forward to?    Don't tell my dad.....

I've just recently started getting closer to running 4 miles non-stop so I'm pretty pumped. I hope by September I can run more non-stop, but if not I'm planning to run 4 miles, walk a mile, run 3, walk another mile then run the last 4. I figure I could finish okay with that in an effort to build up momentum for the Army 10-miler in October. Is this a nutty plan? I've never attempted to run anything like this before but I'm excited to try it!

I doubt my player will last that long, but are we allowed to listen to music on this run?

47 days!

I ran a 15 miler last week and ended up with a massive blood blister on the ball of my right foot. I hope everyone's prep is going well!

Hiya - I am looking for any help if possible. My wife was training for the half with several other friends. Her friends, being more timely, signed up months ago. My wife did not. The race has sold out both the half and full distance. What I am looking for is 1) Does anyone have any sneaky way to register via a service member or knowing someone important 2) Is anyone decided not to do the race due to injury or other reasons and would like to to have to transfer the registration?
Thanks
