Who's in?
Someone started a thread in triathlon talk so I figured I'd get one going where the actual link was and kick it off :)

Edit: I guess this one shows up in triathlon talk as well. Is there a different DC tri than this one?

But considering it is called Nation's Triathlon and not DC Tri, this should be the official thread, hehe.

Did you mean to post this in the VA forum?

I'll be doing it with Team in Training. The link to my fundraising page and training blog are below. I'm pretty excited for it. It'll be my first oly and 3rd tri.

Next year a HIM! :-)

Anybody know anything about volunteering? I just moved here and unfortunately am too late to sign up for the race but would be interested in helping out. The sign up page on the website says that volunteer sign up ended last year. Is this just a typo? Anybody else volunteering?

I'm in for both too. Can't turn down the tris in my own city! Sprint and Newbie Challenge for DC Tri, and then Nation's will be my first Oly (for now, I may do Cleveland beforehand - haven't decided yet). See you all there!

Can't figure out how to delete that double post above. Whoops, sorry.

You can still sign up for the DC Tri!

Or you can volunteer there:

If anyone is coming in from out of town for the Nation's Tri, I'd be glad to provide a place to stay. I'm just over the DC line in Maryland, about 8 miles from the race start. I can drive you there the morning of the race.

I've got room for 3 or 4 people (2 twin beds, a double futon, and a couch). You have to be willing to put up with dogs, because I have two. And I'd rather you didn't cook meat in my house. :-)

Preference goes to those for whom the pricey DC hotels would be a hardship.

And don't worry, I'm not some murderous nutjob. I'm a 53 year old woman who's a BOP triathlete with little concern about moving to the middle.

Im in! My first Olympic and my 2nd tri (my last was a sprint in 2005). I have just started training, so this may not be my best performance, but I couldn't resist a tri in my hometown alongside the monuments!

I'm in too. This will be my first ever triathlon. First time swimming, biking or running competitively. I just did an aquabike yesterday to see if I was up for the distances, and it wasn't too bad. Looking forward to my first tri. See everyone there.

I'm in on this one. Currently in Alexandria. Anyone hitting the expo the day before? Doing the practice swim? Wanna meet up for a lunch or dinner the day before?

didn't think that far ahead. I'm fairly open. It depends on what time works for all wo are interested. What time is the baby shower? We could work around your schedule.

There are a few shops up in that area, but I don't have any experience with them.
