I'm getting excited.

I'll be more excited and focused when I get past my half marathon on Saturday morning.

woohoo! I'm ready for the party, unfortunately the 1/2 marathon is on sunday, so not too much partying on Saturday. I wonder when I should look for a hotel? I have a friend, Rena, who's doing the race with me, too.

OK I'm all registered. Big smile on my face now. Can't wait to make this a big ol' BT event! I assume we'll figure out Saturday's food outing at a later time? Anyway, I'm in!!

OK peeps...I've been tasked with coming up with a shirt design should anyone want to sport one on marathon weekend. We have loads of time before the race, so let's hear some ideas! For now, take a look at these and let me know where we can go with it!

Back of shirt

Front center chest

I can draw up any ideas you guys have, so feel free to suggest!
Thanks all!!

Whoa Jeff...looks way cool to me...I like it! A T-shirt to hang around in before/after race is a good idea. Any chance of it in a sleeveless something-or-other that's not cotton so we can run in it? Hey, I know I'm asking a lot here, so feel free to throw darts back at me!!

BTW...my entry fee is in. Now I just gotta get the airline tix and hotel reservations.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys! Glad you like the design!

OK, here's my idea for choosing the type of shirt. Honestly, I do prefer a sleeveless to a regular T, but then again it'll be February....hmmmm... Anyway, I can either go buy the shirts and do the printing on them...and then whoever wants one can PayPal me the money and I'll send it out....OR....I can just make the graphics available on my website for download at high quality, and you guys can go buy whatever shirt you like (or as many as you want, I'll probably have a couple myself), some high quality inkjet transfer paper, and then do the transfer yourself. It's REALLY easy. I did the shirts for my little team at last year's Disney Marathon, and they came out great! It'd probably would cost less money to not worry about shipping and stuff, but I don't mind doing it either way. We've got plenty of time before the marathon, so we can decide later on.

Thanks again for the props, and as always, if you have any suggestions, changes, or ideas, feel free to throw them at me.

Yup, totally forgot about the date!!! OK, tonight when I get home I'll put 2006 on it. What do you think Renee, should it say "Marathon Weekend 2006" or should I put the whole date February 26, 2006 underneath the Marathon Weekend line?

I think I like "Marathon Weekend 2006". Some BTers are running on Saturday (the 10k) and others are running on Sunday. Can you make the Team BT as wide as www.beginnertriathlete.com (for aesthetic reasons)? Use your own judgment.

I love the "Where's the transition area?" line. HYUCK HYUCK!

I have been wavering in my motivation to do the 1/2, but seeing the shirts is getting me excited again! So I have never run more than 4 miles, I have time, right??

She'd probably rather the shirt be made of tortilla.

Hey Jeff, I like the idea of making your own transfer and that way I can iron it to a couple of different shirts. Maybe one to run in, the other for lounging about apres-race. Maybe if we all show up at Channelside with our shirts on we can get a "team discount" on the beer!

Discount beer!!! Hell yeah I'm all for that!!!!

OK I'm gonna take all these suggestions and I'll make up the new design tonight. Should be done earlier than last night since I'm not going to school tonight. While I'm thinking of it, are we all OK on the colors? I figure since the Gasparilla logo is a red/blue thing, and the BT logo is red/blue, I'd just stick with that, but if you guys think it could use some other colors, I'm open to that as well.

Yay, this is really cool! I love the bodymarking line too...gonna use that one as well as the transition one. Actually I think I'll use the bodymarking one on top of the Gasparilla logo, so it'll catch people's eyes...
