Comments:

Swim was good! No problems. Hoped I'd be a little bit faster, but not complaining. I should have found (been looking out for) a good draft.
What would you do differently?:

get a draft!!

Awesome!!!!! I passed like 50 people. Got passed once, but passed him back right away. I felt great - and wasn't killing myself on the hills, just going at a comfortable pace.

Had a great time out there at Triangle with you Tom!  You're a heck of an athelete.  Let me know when you get a set of cleats....you're going to be SCARY on the bike.  Heck...you're scary fast now.  Way to crank out those hills.

Looking forward to seeing some of your future races.  Congrats once again.  Great Race and heck of a time.  You're toasted your goal time.

You passed me...I was also novice...did swim in 17 min, but my bike took about ten minutes longer than you. Nice job.

Hey Tom,

Way to go and AWESOME time on the bike. I tend to do the same thing on the run. I start fairly quickly and have to rein myself back in so I do not blow out in the first 2 miles. I want to blow out everybody else in the last mile! Like Jeff said, you are going to be really scary when you get some cleats!

They posted the total times and ranks at the end, after they gave out the awards.

Tom that was a pretty darn good performance, and you smoked it pretty good on the bike, especially for not pushing it too hard. I sure can't say that, I know I was pushing it pretty good on some of those hills.

Great meeting you at Mike's. Hopefully I'll see you at some more races and maybe we can have some more BT get togethers.

Way to go, Tom. You cooked that bike... I knew you would with those deck shoes! LOL! And what a great run, too. Awesome. Had a great time meeting you before the race and after at Mike's party. Hope to race again together soon.
