Total Crap! I am pretty disgusted.
What would you do differently?:

I need to do more speed work. On the bike and the run. More bricks.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

I need to do more bike and run speed work. I have 5 weeks to my priority one race and I need to get in gear. No more missed workouts. No more modified workouts. 1 long, 1 speed, and 1 tempo/week for the bike and run.

My transitions are pretty good.

This was a good time to have a poor race. I have 5 weeks to improve.

Event comments:

Excellent race! Very well organized! I would recommend this race to both beginners and experienced triathletes.

Jeez, average bike speed 21mph and run speed of just over 7 minutes/mile and that's a bad performance? You must be a stud! I would be overjoyed at those speeds!

I have been re-evaluating...

My bike speed has improved about a half mile per hour each race this year. I shouldn't complain. I do want to hit that 22-22.5 MPH mark though, but I still have 5 weeks to my priority 1 race.

I have not improved my run! I do need to work harder on this. I am shooting for a 6:45 pace.

There were quite a few studs in this race which made my results look a bit worse. What I needed to do was to compare these results with my past results.

I checked out your Carlsbad race report. Top 1/3 is certainly nothing to sneeze at.

David-
Don't beat yourself up too badly about your run. Like you said, this was not your "priority" race, so use it as a stepping stone. You don't want to be peaking too early. If anything, this could turn out to be a real positive if you can use it as motivation. Keep up the hard work and good luck!

BTW, what is your priority race?

Regards,
Kevin

This looks like an outstanding race to me! Congratulations!

The weather could not have helped, I imagine; the heat and humidity were bad enough in Grand Rapids on Saturday, so I'm sure it was nearly unbearable in St. Cloud on Sunday!

Great race. I'd give my right arm to have a race like that considering my result. But then I wouldn't be able to swim...
One day I want to be as good as you.
See you up in Nevis

Now, I know that when you're slower than you want to be it just bites, but man, I wish...

As others have said, this wasn't your priority race, so you've got some time to lock it down for that one - also you want to be in your best shape for that one, not this one.

Thanks all for the perspective.

I don't feel quite as bad as I did when I viewed the results. The posted results did have my run time as a 7:34 pace, but this is incorrect if my finish time and race distance are accurate.

Rather than selling my bike to buy a big screen TV and satellite dish subscription, I will use this race as motivation to train a bit better in the coming weeks.
