Yeah...no, not so much. It felt all right. I thought I'd be a lot faster on the swim since I have really been training it and working on my form but I was two minutes over last year, 7 minutes over on the bike and 5 minutes on the run...WTF. Thought I'd do better just because it is my second year and I thought I'd be a little stronger on everything. I'm really disappointed...last year this time I was thinking I have nowhere to go but up. Apparently I was wrong as I came in second to last in my age group.

Results are up on the Prime Time Website

http://www.resultsbyprimetime.com/RESULTS%20PAGES/AUGUST10/HANSEN/hdtri_age_10.htm

I finished 5th in my division and I guess I'm ok with that as I rode a 40 mile tempo ride yesterday and my legs were absolutely SHOT. I couldn't even stand up on the bike they hurt so bad...Not really the way to go into a race, but I did plan on it so I'm totally ok with it.

Great job Chris being the second out of the water! I was right behind you and managed to get out of transition first because I wasn't wearing a wetsuit. I actually had the fastest T1 time in our division.

This was a really fun race.

Nice finish brother!  Yeah....you had a smokin fast transition time.  I'm hoping I can start getting mine down there a bit, but I'm fairly happy with it for only my second event.   I'm so stoked on the swim.   Not only happy with my placing, but I just felt fast and smooth.   I should have started in the front line, but I was able to get around a few people right after that left turn.  I swam straighter than I usually do too....I only sighted twice on each leg and I hit the buoys dead on.

Guess I know I can lay off the swim training and focus on the bike for a bit.  lol.   I was pretty happy with it though...my computer said I averaged  20mph, which for me is a pretty big improvement from not even owning a road bike 3 months ago.

The run was just alright I suppose...I made the mistake of taking abig swig off my bike bottle at T2 and had a side stitch from the get go.   The sand on the trail felt like it was sucking my  momentum the whole way too, but my time tells me I was actually running a pretty decent pace for my current abilities.

Overall it was a really neat course and everyone involved was super friendly.

I guess my time was actually 1:11.  Not sure why the live results at the finish were 2 minutes faster.

Next year I'm shooting for sub hour.

Yeah, the clock at the end of the race was actually right, but the results on the TV were not.

The swim was also long...had to have been, there is no way we were going at a 1:49/100 pace...it also felt long...more like 650-700 yards. Which would make more sense based on the times.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the swim was, at the very least, longer than last year. I think the run was, too. Does anybody remember if we ran around the lake first last year? I thought we went from transition, off to the left, up the grass and then onto the trail. I don't remember running around the lake at all. There were a couple of places on the course that seemed to take the long way so I think this year's run was much closer to three miles than last year's (I didn't take the Garmin on the run so I can't say for sure).

Great race today. Things seemed to run sooo much smoother than last year. I didn't see any lines!

I was very happy with my race, it was good enough for 2nd in my AG (45-49). The guy that beat me went 58:32!!

Fastyellow - Great time and wow do you have some tuff competition. The transition times alone in the top-end of your division are crazy fast.

hondo77 - I think the distances have always been slightly off in this race. The numbers don't quite add up. I think the run was exactly the same path as last year.

FYI, my Garmin had the run at 2.95 Miles and the bike and 10.2 Miles.

Yeah, my age group was pretty stacked, my time would have been good for a podium in any other age group. I really was looking for sub 1 hour but I can't complain based on how I felt.....

I did get chicked in the overall too....which is always a tough pill to swallow ; )

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the swim was longer. That would explain my swim time being longer, but I can make no excuses on the other legs. I can't believe it is even possible that I could have finished a full 15 minutes slower than last year. I had no setbacks at all...I'm just beyond frustrated but I guess it means I better get my butt in gear for next months tris.

Congrats to the rest of you who all did great!

I did 13 minutes SLOWER than last year as well. But I'm chalking it up to my legs cramping until the 2nd water station on the run. 2 mins slower on the swim (but tore my rotator cuff in May), 2 mins slower on the bike (can't explain that), and 8 mins slower on the run (cramps).

My garmin had a 2.9 mile run and 10.2 mile bike.
