GMAN 19030 - 2011-05-28 12:36 PM

dexter - 2011-05-28 10:45 AM Coming up quick gman.  We are trying to ride the bike tomorrow.  mid morning.  5/29

Let me know what you think of the bike.  I looked at the elevation profile and it looked like it had some hills but nothing absurdly difficult.

Its a great course if it is not blowing but if there is a wind ugh.  Only one killer hill but its short the rest are grades more then hill.

Also in off the wait list!  I just found out I'll be singing the anthem before the half as well.  Hope to meet some of you up there!

Well less then a month to go.   I got to ride the course once with Marmadaddy hope to get in once more.  The park didn't seem as rough this year.

Yeats... I am looking forward to the double big time. If we don't get to meet up good luck to ya! My good friends band is from Ann Arbor, if you are into rock and roll you should check them out... They are called Grand Circus.

Heh, I'd say we should meet up for a practice swim the day before the HIM, but it looks like we both have that covered. Good luck at the race!

Thanks for the Grand Circus rec, I'll have to check them out if they play Blind Pig or one of the other venues around here.

Rode this weekend.  Windy with lots of horse manure.

96A held up well.

96&414 had some of the bigger cracks pathed so its a little harder to catch a tire.

Fayette Townline Rd has a lot of resurfacing but still tough corner at the bottom.  Cty Rd 129 &130 are about the same gotta watch it.

Depot Rd that little cut through just got oil/gravel adn is in need of trafica nd sweeping.  Notified JeffH on that.   The rest is good.  Park somehow seems better.  Still the one lane bridge to it.

Little head up on the conditions.

For those that will be in town early enough Saturday or if you are coming in on Friday, BT runs the aid station on the run course for the mini-mussel.  I think this is the 4th year doing this and it is always fun and a good way to meet up with other BT folks.

Unfortunately due a family commitment the afternoon is out for me, so hopefully I will get a chance to catch up with you guys Saturday at the aid station!

I am traveling with a large contingent from state college pa and don't know our exact plans. If we can't meet the day before than definitely in transition in the am of the race. How's everyone's training going??

Hey Fred, training over here has gone decently this year. Can't believe it's only 11 days until race weekend -- I need more time! Oh well, FUN is my main objective, even if I'm not where I want to be fitness-wise come race day.

How has your training gone so far this year? What's your taper plan?

The Cleveland Tri Club will have a about 20 or so racers at the race.  I will have obnoxious green Oakleys and a Green trackers hat on the run. Say hi if you pass me!  Look for our EZ up tent if you need a place to stash your stuff.  We are all reallllly honest people.

I have a torn distel bicep tendon and have to WD from the double mussel.... I was so looking forward to it. I am only 3 weeks post op and it was a complete rupture/tear... tendon retracted to the shoulder area. Now I know why I should only swim, bike and run and not play softball. Hopefully I can do The Syracuse HIM in Sept....

Good luck to all, would have liked to have met fellow BT'ers....

That's terrible news! Hope you are recovering well and not in too much pain post-op. Heal up quickly!

Holy Crap was that balls to the wall hot, alll day.  I melted on the run.  Thought the swim was a little choppy, the bike was into the breeze the whole way, and the run was in an oven.

Indeed!  I think that was one of the hottest Musselman 70.3's on record - I'd have to check to be 100% sure.  Anyone who finished that race deserves a round of applause!  Thanks for coming and supporting the great sponsors and beautiful Geneva, NY!

That makes me happy to hear it was one of the hottest Musselman to date.  I pretty much crashed and burned on the run but broke my 6hr goal.  Such an extremely well run race, all of the reports were spot on.

I cannot say enough about the organization for this race.  The bike and run had tremendous volunteer support for me all day.  I love the fact that the aid stations are every mile on about the half mile.  It makes the distance to goals seem easier.  Run to mile marker, run to aid station.  So well stocked with ice, water, cookies, sponges, everything.
