Notice how I like to make sure I'm adding the year on the date of these runs? Just to make sure we're all on the same page?

So over mimosas, it sounded like we were leaning towards rotating locations between central, south, and northwest, so I propose we do our run this time starting at La Sandias in Park Meadows mall, DTC. Travis made it sound like we could link up with the 470 trail pretty easily from there.

Who's in? Run, then margaritas and GUACAMOLE!!!!

I guess i should have mentioned we are leaving for Noah's spring break next Friday and will be gone next weekend.   I would love to meet and do a ride or run on the 470, but next weekend i will be out of town.

Sorry to have missed today's run, other issues ruled the day... while I will never stand in the way of Margs and Guacamole, there are several nearby meeting locations that provide access to 'better' running trails, IMHO.  Options include Highlands Heritage Park at Lincoln/University(selfishly close to both me and Kath2163), Bluffs Regional Park off Lincoln/Yosemite, and Rocky Heights Middle School at Monarch/McArthur Ranch; all three are conveniently close to the Park Meadows Shopping Magnet and provide lots of options for trail, dirt/gravel road, and paved trail.

Thoughts?  Opinions?

Man, as long as we get guacamole and margaritas, I don't care where we run!

Tamales sound awesome too.

Dangit!  Ya'll keep planning these things for days when I have either a swim or a bike on the schedule (swim, this week)!  I'll make it one of these weeks.

Just curious about the Park Meadows choice...I liked La Sandia when we went there, nice patio and all. There are a few other Marg spots close by (Brewery Bar III, Rio Grande, Los Arcos) that don't require wading into the mall, and are also a bit more 'budget friendly'; but if LS is a favorite, or there's a Tequila Bar requirement, 'nuf said.

And about that pre-marg run, any thoughts re: distances, terrain, etc?

I think the patio was the appeal, IIRC...although my brain may have been a teeny bit mimosa-infused during that discussion. I'm good with anything, honestly. I'm a broke student, so cheap(er) is better for me, but I can/will budget it in as necessary. Same for the run...I'd like to do at least 8-10, other than that, no real requirements for me!

If folks are agreeable to meet at the south end of the parking lot at Highlands Heritage Park , there are three trail options from there, each with slightly different terrain. Form the one mapped in this link, after that first 1.5, there's options for hills (Bluffs Regioanl Park), single track trails (Wildcat Reserve open space), or more conventional routes, anywhere from 4 to 10+...
As for patios, LoDo's is another possible option, less than a mile from the park, and would meet the Margarita requirement Cool

Sounds good to me! La Sandias was just a starting point, mainly because the view from the upstairs patio is unbeatable.

I have absolutely no familiarity with any part of Denver, so I'm pretty useless when it comes to location suggestions, so whatever you guys come up with is awesome.

Let's go ahead and plan on Highlands Heritage Park at 10AM, be there or be square.

I'm in park hill. it's not a matter of the the drive, more the time commitment. sundays are busy with the wife, kid, and fam so losing an hour to a round trip is hard. my bad for mising the run last week that was just around the corner from me. thanks for the offer though 8-D

No prob! We'll be rotating locations, so most likely we'll be back up at Lowry on the next round.

I'm not sure yet if I'm going to make this one or not. If I don't I will be looking for next week and my last long run before the 1/2.
