I've really been enjoying Season 2, and especially the last 2 episodes.  It's fun to watch Rick's transformation from being Mr. Goody Two-Shoes into a more bad-azz character, as he realizes that society's rules have changed.  He's on a collision course with Shane for sure, and I know who my bet is on.  (Duh.)

I also started reading the comics/graphic-novel.  Started with the first 2 hardbacks, and just ordered the remaining 5 from Amazon.  I wonder if we should start a different thread where people can talk about the differences between the graphic novel and the TV series?  There are clear differences, and I wouldn't want to mention something that I know happens in the comics that hasn't occurred yet (or may never occur) in the TV series.

Hell yeah. Even the previews were tense. Rick in changing, and I like it.

Most zombie work shows this to be true. World War Z had less overall breakdown, but still it was notable. Zomblog, Zone One, and Zombie, Ohio are recent ones I have read that also confirm this.

Of course, we may be looking at the whole thing incorrectly, from our own selfish vantage point. Rather than the zombie-pocalypse signifying the end of humanity, it is actually the zombie-topia, signifying the beginning of an age of peace and harmony for the zombies...

So after last night's episode the bolded part above seems to hold some water.  Rick and Shane were talking about how the guards didn't have any bites and that it must have been scratches, but yeah, that kind of looks like the direction they are going.  Good episode.

I have one complaint: I'm about tired of the look on Shane's face.  It's like he's walking around in a cloud of fart all the time.  Turn that frown upside down, man!  Seriously though, he really needs to get some variety in his facial expressions.

What I was thinking.

I liked that they are showing their thought process for how to fight in the winter and also that they are starting to be smarter with killing the walkers. Using knifes more and figuring out tricks or traps they can use to their advantage. While still having the drama with the girl trying to kill herself they got back to the basics of a zombie apocalypse rather than the soap opera we have for a few episodes.

 It is a bit more graphic with the zombies.

And how can the walkers bleed all over them but they don't get sick? With all the blood and everything they show when they get blood splattered on their mouth/ears/eyes.

I had the exact same thought.  Especially considering they had just beat the shiite out of each other and were all cut up and bloody with open wounds on their lips, nose, cheeks, forehead.  some kind of drool or blood had to have gotten in there.  If just a scratch will do it, why not a splatter?  These are the times I remind myself to just role with it.

Another thing, I was trying to decipher the significance of the lone zombie walking in the field that they kept showing.  Was it just an artsy fartsy "we all end up alone anyway" type of thing or was it foreshadowing or what?  It kind of looked like Shane was relating to it a little bit.  Maybe I'm way off, but the way he was watching it just made me think maybe he's on the verge of leaving the group.

Last episode was great!  I also stumbled on a spoiler site and could not resist digging in.  If the next 3 episodes play out like the spoiler explains it should be pretty entertaining.

Regarding the Comic's I am caught up through the latest release and waiting for the next to be published on Weds.  The story line in the show and comic have taken completely different directions which is pretty fun.  However, I would not mind seeing The Governor make an appearance on the show.  Wondering if the kid they dropped off is from his town, it was pretty close to the farm in the comic.

Yeah, and what about that ZOMBIE SANDWICH of 3 of those knarly bloodied dudes on top of Rick! LOL
