i guess that with all the many different options around, it's 70.3 training mode again.

Miamiman will be my first 70.3, assuming I survive it; I'll be in Sarasota next year!

Edited to add:  I just pulled up the website to see exactly where the race will be and was excited to see it is on Lido Beach.  I just came back from a seminar there and the Gulf was perfect for swimming and the roads great for running.  I didn't have a chance to do any cycling, but the causeway crossings look like fun!  It is gorgeous there and I am now officially excited thinking about it!

Semi-hijacking here, but MiamiMan will be my first HIM as well, we should try to meet up, its always nice to meet other BTers in person.

Now, back to the thread.  The course should be awesome.  From the brief description on the Rev3 website, the bike should be very fast.  There is one large bridge (65 feet high) and one smaller draw bridge (maybe 35 feet high) other than that it is as flat as can be.  Most of the roads have been resurfaced in the last year, so they are in great shape.

The run could be interesting because there is not that much shade, but in late October that shouldn't be an issue.

This year found out about the Longboat tri and now there's this: what to do, what to do, what to do!

I love it over there (FL East coaster)

So, I am assuming youre aware of the new HITS Series with a race in Naples (Jan) and Ocala (March)  All levels of racing, from Ultrasprint to Full Iron...

Yes, but that's running season for my wife and I and I'm not interested in tri races over the winter.  We like to have little vacations over by Siesta Key, Anna Marie, etc.

The Rev3 looks awesome in Sarasota although mentally I was considering Augusta but it's much closer to home.

Thanks for posting the HITS info because that March race is calling my name :-) Especially since 70.3 Orlando is still not open for registration.

Good luck to everyone in MiamiMan.

Very interesting...I wish the race was a bit earlier in the Fall, as I could use this race as a warm-up for IMFL (2012) .

Miamiamy (I think that was your username): Augusta is a great race/course. I was really impressed by the whole race, minus the post-race shuttle service, or should I say lack-thereof. Nonetheless, I am hoping I can get the OK to do Augusta next year as my warmup.

Looks like a great race. But it is too close to IMFL. Augusta was a good fit this year. Duane

have you guy's looked at the gator Half triathlon in Sarasota on March 25th 30 minutes from Tampa

it is a olympic and a half

More shameless promotion of your own for-profit race.

You'd be wise to steer clear of his races anyway.

It looks like it's going to be in Venice! I live less than a mile from the starting line and couldn't be more pumped. 1/2 of the bike is the route I take to work everyday. I'm doing the Gator 70.3 in March and plan on doing the Rev3 later in the year.

Charlie, the man behind Rev3, was hoping to be able to open up registration by early January - meaning a fully approved course with maps posted - so, hopefully VERY soon! The second I hear anything, I'll be sure to come post the info here so you all know!

The new year is kind of a zoo, finalizing sponsors, orginizing the Run Across America for charity (http://rev3tri.com/america/about-the-run-across-america/) and launching a new coaching program... If you want more info about that one, PM me

yes, sir a portion goes to the WWP and the other portion goes to local athletes fighting cancer, ie: Tony from Village Bike Shop, TeamTony, and also Chris Sarno who was fighting Cancer, we also paid for 2 benches at Celery fields in Honor of 2 local athletes, and for Children charity in Tampa

i am not doing this for money, but just to give back to the sport, and help others with their challenges,

you may have heard things about me, yes i am a outside the click of triathlete, yes i don't let people bully thier ways into my life, i call out liars, when they lie. i am not Politicaly correct.

i don't claim to be a good race director, i do not financialy compete with Big races like Rev3 and WTC,

i use my own money to finance every races, my race prices are half of other, and still get you the same has the Big Races, if you want the big flags, the red carpet, the big Finish line, the announcer calling your name when you cross the finish line, then i am not your guy.

if you have not done one of my races in 2011, i invite you to race for free at one of the races at own in 2012,

then come to me after the race and tell me what i did wrong.

PS: don't correct my grammar, english in not my first language
