Event warmup:

This race was a point to point race so I parked my car near the finish line and ran 4.5 miles to the start.

Comments:

Today was supposed to be a 10 mile day so I ran 4.5 to the start line. My plan was to keep it slow at about 10 min ;er mile. My first mile was about 9:45 and I felt so good I increased my pace to about 9:30. Soon I was at about a 9 min per mile pace and kept it up for most of the race.
What would you do differently?:

Skip the 4.5 mile run before the race.
Post race
Warm down:

Walk around, drink water, eat some food.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The length of the pre-run run.

Event comments:

The problem with this race is it is very boring. It is run on Federal Highway with no scenery other than shops, restaurants, etc. Only 2 turns.

I love your parking strategy so you could tack on another 5 miles.  LOL!  Very cool that you felt good enough and dropped the pace.  You probably easily negative split this sucker.  Great race Bob!

Hey, I just talked to Sharon on the phone, she was at the airport waiting for her flight. She said SHE made you park near the finish!   Anyways, I can't wait to hear how her race went- so jealous she's in Hawaii!! Great times on your run too. It was windy out there today!

Sharon probably wanted me out of the house early this morning so she could sleep.
