Comments: Tough to get into a rhythm with such a large throng of ppl at the start. The route took on some narrow streets until about 8k in, where things started to stretch a bit. My knees started carkin about the 12k mark, and it was a battle to maintain pace from there. By the time I reached the last mile marker, I was pretty numb. DOn't remember the finish itself or hear the announcer. What would you do differently?: Flexibility. My joints let me down. I had no problems cardio wise, just the flesh was weak. More yoga...ok some yoga! any yoga. Post race
Warm down: Hot tub. Epsom salts. stretching. Haven't been able to walk at all well for 2 days...this too will pass. What limited your ability to perform faster: ITBS Last updated: 2005-10-06 12:00 AM

Up early - Banana, some scrambled eggs, water.
Jogged the streets around the start - stretched a bit to get the nerves out. The athlete crowd surge was massive!
