Run
Comments: Got off to a slow start because there were so many people running too slow at the front. Got into a good pace and started to pick off some people until I got to the biggest, most evil hill right at mile 2. Then the Gingerbread Man passed me (Halloween costumes were prevalent here), and I started to pick it up a bit. Did a good job at opening my stride back down the hill and finished strong with a good "sprint". What would you do differently?: Nothing, well...maybe bulldoze that friggin' hill down! Otherwise I was really happy with the race in week 3 of my 1/2 marathon training program! Post race
Warm down: Walked around to get some bananas and bagels, watched some of the people dressed up (a girl was dressed as "Spam", there were some totally adorable kids' costumes). Walked back to the car. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing other than it's only week 3 back to running!!! Event comments: This is such a fun race!! Everyone got a free pumpkin, the t-shirt was great, and there were lots of sponsors giving out free stuff. The VW Beetle people were there giving out a boat-load of freebies!!! Really fun race!!! Got up and put on some orange and black clothing...and makeup. Come on, had to sport some Halloween pride, this is the Pumpkin Push after all! Ate some plain spaghetti and drank some water. Jumped in Steph's car and drove to Seward Park.
Walked around a bunch getting loads of free stuff (made that $30 entry fee worth it!). Jogged for about 10 min, stretched, ran into a few people from school, got ready to go!
