Pre-race routine:

1 clif bar and water ~2hrs before, another clif bar & water 30-45minutes before. Stood around for a while freezing my ass off.
Event warmup:

Jogged up to the start from Inside-Out Sports (~6/10 mile).
Run
  • 2h 15m 56s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 10m 23s  min/mile
Comments:

Overall, I'm very happy. I think my pacing was excellent. I was going slower than I might have liked, but it felt good. My nutrition was also excellent. Had one gel at ~mile 6.
Knee behaved itself, although it was mildly painful for most of the race. ITBS showed up around mile 3, which is earlier than usual (mile 6). But it never got bad, so that was good. I think having all the other people around to distract me was good.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. Get some ball warmers so my boys won't be so damn cold next time.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around, had some water. Went out for breakfast. Then went to the NC State Fair. Walked around for several hours. So now my feet are REALLY tired.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I'm slow!

Event comments:

Organization could have been better. Gatorade would have been nice at water stations. Some other things could have been done better also.
