Pre-race routine:

Got to race, registered. Had 1 cup of oatmeal, 1 banana, and 1 cup of coffee for breakfast about 2 hours before the race.
Event warmup:

Ran for about 10 min to w/u. Stretched for another 10 min. Waited around a the start, did some legs stuff ( running in place, butt kicks, etc. ) to stay loose.

Comments:

Run was fun! I went out a bit fast, then backed it off a bit after mile 1, and kicked it up the last mile. Kicked a few times during the race to pass some packs and move up the field. I made 'em all stick. Only one person passed me back.
What would you do differently?:

Not much, it was just a fun race. I probably could have pushed it a bit more, but then I'd have been really hurting at the end.
Post race
Warm down:

Walk around, stretched, cheered the rest of the finishers for the next 15 minutes. Got cold at that point ( I was in shorts ), so went back to car and then came home.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Marathon 3 weeks ago, and then doing nothing in the interim. :)

Event comments:

Fun 5k for a great cause. I found a new running path to go work out on too. The limestone path was really nice to run on. Good turnout and very well organized too.

Nice FAST run Chris!  I had to laugh that you actually answered the "what limited your ability to run faster" question....seems like it was pretty darn fast to me!

Still speedy after all that rest   Can't wait to see how a full offseason of work translates into races next season!  You seem to get faster all the time!

Nice race Chris...I think you're right...there's some hardware out there with your name on it.    Way to go and congrats on the speed.
