Comments:

Great run. My goal was to break 2 hours and I figured a 9 minute mile would put me at about 1:58. My first mile was 9:00, second was 8:31, much faster than I planned but I felt good. Slowed down to about 8:40 until mile 12. Last 2 miles were at about 9:00. I was surprised how good I felt at the 8:40 pace.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. This was a great race for me. Much better than expected, both mentally and physically.
Post race
Warm down:

Walk around, get some pancakes, drink water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Genetics.

Event comments:

I think all the triathlons and training has made me much stronger mentally. At mile 7 I felt great and told myself, "Only a 10k to go!!" and kept up my positive attitude. The old me would have been thinking "I am barely half done with this and still have a 10k left.

I see you must have a Garmin or something like it also...
Nice run man.... do you think you could have gotten away with a 10 or 20 second faster pace? or were you gassed?  Seems being that consistant can only mean next time  you will do better.

Nice race

I didn't use the Garmin for the race. I don't want to be ruled by the watch, just run by how I feel. I don't think I could have gone 10 - 20 seconds faster per mile. That was my max and my legs are feeling it today. I need to run some faster long runs during my training.
