Allright peoples. As you may have remembered, I talked of the 1/2 IM this year...I axed it with the second kid expected in June plus with an injury last year, never had a solid oly base.
I am all better now and have signed up for the HFP Racing series in Ohio. 7 Olympic length races (NOT June 20...new baby due date...wife would be 'irritated') I will be doing a little reporting and publishing about the series as I get the races done...only thing bad is that I have to get up early for most of these (4:00am)...rats... I HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!!!
Awesome Ron, I can't wait to read those race reports. I don't think an Oly is in my picture for this season, I would drown for sure before I ever got to the bike. Next year I am going to look at an Ohio race since many are closer or as close to me as those in IN. Good luck!
Go Ron! that's Awesome. I see you signed up for a series... I am doing the same thing, although I can't really see any benefit. If I do 4 of the 6 they consider me in the "overall standings" at the end of the year - as if that mattered... I think I'll start a thread!
Well, it's really only six if you drop the 6/20 race . . . But AWESOME challenge dude!
I think if you talk nicely to your wife, she might be able to hold on to that baby until the 21st or at least a little later on the 20th . . . I mean if you're willing to get up at 4 am for these races, she ought to meet you halfway, right?
Nice schedule Ron. Too bad you are not doing the Duathlon in Mansfield on May 15th. I'll be driving out a week from this Thursday (May 13th). BTW, in 1977 I did a bicycle racing time trial the same day my first son was born (June 22). It didn't seem to affect him a bit.
the little guy can hold on for half a day...he should be used to his cramped quarters!...the complete series would be cool to do though. hey, i would be sleeping in on sat/sun till noon if it wasnt for the races...so i feel if i am back by noon....ALL OK!
hehe...i will just keep up the sweet talk...our first was a week late anyway.
Wow, I'm really impressed. I'm signed up for 3 races this year (2 sprints and an Olympic) with an option for a 4th (Sprint) if I've still got some juice come September. 7 races... I can't even begin to comprehend it... my legs are getting sore just considering such a thing. Can't wait to read your race recaps!
