The BT coke vs pop vs soda debate (Page 2)

Ummmm that was MY point.   I'm not sure what your "not at all" comment is referring to.

All I'm sayin (and this is the LAST time I'm sayin it) is:

You want a tissue - if you ask for a Kleenex, you get it.

You want a sticky note - ask for a Post-It, you get it.

You want adjustable pliers - ask for Channel Locks, you get em.

You want a Mountain Dew - ask for a Coke and you WON'T get a MT DEW.

It ain't rocket science.  I wash my hands of this thread

I thought only the black carbonated drink that was made with the ingredients containing  sugar, caramel, caffeine, phosphoric acid, coca leaf and kola nut extract (hence Coca Cola), lime extract, flavoring mixture etc, etc., can be called "coke"?  Then the "kleenex" phenomenon applies to Pepsi and Dr. Pepper.  But root beer is not coke.

I am from Ontario and I moved to Florida for a year and would often ask for an Iced Tea.. and my American friends would smile and correct me by telling the waitress that what I really wanted was a Sweet Tea.. and btw its pop.
