I missed the post about the limited Conferences.  I started a West Coast Conference Team on another thread.  Can my WCC Team stay together or do we have to join up with the specified Conferences?

A quick count reveals that the PAC 10 team has 5 members, three of which have already stated that they were amenable to joining the West Coast Conference team.  As such a merger of the teams appears to make the most sense (remember that in the event of a tie for percentage of members reaching their goal, then it is determined by aggregate time/mileage pledged).

As I suspect that more people from the West Coast will want to join the challenge ... and in an effort not to mess with someone's self-identity and inner-being, okay to call the team West Coast Conference/PAC 10?

Skazi - 2006-02-28 7:06 PM Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!!!! Need team!!! Seeing I did not go to school in the US, I will sell my cycling legs to whichever team will take me. I will be modest and pledge 100 Miles, I have to work one weekend (this one) and have one 1/2 M to run. Some obvious choices: Currently on the East Coast, My kids were born in Canada. Let me know!

You are more then welcome to join team Canada if you want. We started a thred here: http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp... post on that thred or PM me letting me know you want on and I'll pencil you in .

Not having studied here , apart from some minor (geographic) loyalties to Cal Bears, am fine with the WCC/Pac 10 idea . Where do I sign up :-)

Daremo (Rick) and Chris Hughes (Chris) have both expressed an interest in joining the ACC team.  Being a conference will a strong sense of the orange ball, I suspect there might be other folks as well that will be joining.

I am going with the Canadians for this one! They need some warm weather (hehe DC) riders.

Put me in for 110M, that's over three available weekends so the weather better be good!

Paco Pancho the boys were born in Toronto, I worked there for 15 months, loved it! Except the cold - man it is cold.

Potential Challengees:

If you haven't found a team ... find one now.  Be sure to check the different threads in this forum as the teams are now organizing.

Teams:

Please "elect" a captain to be responsible for receiving and compiling stats on a weekly basis to post each Monday morning.

This can be as easy of a "Not It" exercise ... post "Not It" in your team thread and the last one to respond is the Team Captain.  The alternative is for someone to step forward ...

LET'S GO RIDE SOME!

I know zippo/zero/nada about conferences. And, I don't like football (I assume that's what the conference is about?) so I don't want to be aligned with a conference.

Will the Canadians take me? Or is there a non-conference team? When is my goal due to team captain?

The canadians are always a welcoming bunch!  Come on over to the cold side.  Just post your goal as soon as you can on the crazy canuck forum and we'll make you an honourary canadian .

Ok, the ACC has some representation.

We have:

me (our illustrious but sick captain)
AlBearAngel
tpetersen02
karris
chris hughes

Anyone else want in with the winning team, just let me know asap! Everyone should know that when it comes to March the ACC always dominates.
