I'll put in 300 mi.

Since the Sun Belt conference is not included, I'll go to any that will take me that is NOT the SEC.

I have to agree with Madcow... Nothing over your goal should count into your total. The idea is to stretch yourself. If you hit the goal in 2 weeks you didn't stretch to bad...

But like Mr Cow said just my .02 too... but now its .04!

Put me in for 13 hours; combo of road and trainer time. I don't know what team I belong in, though

This Wolverine is good for 9.0 hours in the Big 10. Putting Spartans, Buckeyes, and Wolverines together will make for a pretty disfuntional team . I guess that will make our victory that much more impressive. If no one else wants to do it, I am willing to do the stats for the Big10.

I second your nomination as team captain and join the challenge for the Big 10 (Go Bucks!--I even have an album posted on my log with OSU photos!) Put me down for 9.0 hours, as well. (I haven't biked since before Christmas---yikes!)

So no ACC guys/gals out there huh???

I'm still debating whether or not to head up an ACC team. So far it looks as if there are not a lot of takers ........

But if there happens to be some interest I'll start it up. March will be fitting and adapting to the TT bike for me and getting ready for baby # 3, so may not get the kind of monster miles I would like. Plus I'm spending the the first few days recovering from this damn bug, mini-tapering - racing - recovering for a 1/2 mary. on the 5th. So my mileage won't be that good .....

I too tend to never argue with a cow.

I can see the logic behind the sandbagging sentiment and think we ought to establish goals that we have to stretch to meet.  As such, I think it is a sensical change to the rules - unless someone has strong feelings about it otherwise.

Anyone? Going, going ...

Will post FINAL rules and teams on Friday, March 3rd and then have them stapled to the top of the forum.

It will all be on the trainer, so I'll do a time goal (hey, this will get me to set up my trainer

I'll stretch a bit with 7 hours.

jcjsc00 - 2006-02-28 12:49 PM I am out in Colorado now, but I would love to join a BIG 10 Team! Training Plan right now looks like 12 1/2 hours for March. Does time Mountain Biking count????

Mountain biking most certainly does count ... did 20 miles of single track last weekend when my road bike was in the shop.  Damn near killed me - aerobically and technically.

Same legs, but different skills are needed to ride over roots, switchbacks, mud bogs, rocks and across creeks.

If you are going to primarily do mountain biking, you might want to consider pledging time instead of distances ...

Alright, I'm in for 100 miles on the road + 10 hours on the trainer/Spin class. I'd love to be in MWC but if not, SEC. Does somebody get back to me with my team info. etc? I've never done this before....

What no Team Canada for me to come running to?

I was just going to say the same thing about team Canada?!?!?!?!? I am in for this challenge.... 411 min... not sure about mileage, as I will also be doing spinning classes on this challenge cuz that is an easy awesome hour. but you know if jknapman and I are the only Canadians... well I think that we can carry out team by ourselves... what do you think jknapman??? Paco

YIKES!! I think I'd need a new saddle for that.

But it looks like we have 3 others so that might allieviate the problem. I'd have to do a time goal as bike(s) most likely won't be readly to roll until mid-march. That what the stationary is for!

Edit: 6 hours sound ok?

LOL!  Yep, heck of a disfunctional team - let's kick some butt!  Seriously, I had 80 miles on the bike in January and only 40 for February.  I'm really looking forward to pushing it for March.  Thanks for being the leader.  I've never followed a Wolverine before !

I missed the post about the limited Conferences.  I started a West Coast Conference Team on another thread.  Can my WCC Team stay together or do we have to join up with the specified Conferences?

So it looks like team Canada is so far:

KRCSWO - Need goal

Paco_pancho - 411 min or 6.85 hours

jknapman - 6 Hours

Global - 11.5 Hours

jonow6 - Need goal

Element - 10 Hours

If anyone else wants to join the team just post on this thread or the team canada one with your goal and off we go

I also agree with a few others that any time/distance over your goal shouldn't count.  Part of the challenge is setting that goal.  I think that if you pass it early on you could just revise it after you have a better idea of what you can do a week.

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!!!! Need team!!!

Seeing I did not go to school in the US, I will sell my cycling legs to whichever team will take me. I will be modest and pledge 100 Miles, I have to work one weekend (this one) and have one 1/2 M to run.

Some obvious choices: Live on the East Coast, my kids were born in Canada.

Let me know!

The Big East thread is here-
http://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid...

We will take anyone who is teamless that would like to join us and we are anti-SEC and particularly ACC(oh wait, that's my personal gripe, my bad.)
