Comments:

My plan was to treat this as my long run for the week...and take NICE and EASY. Since I've been only running for about 10 days, I figured this would be a fun way to get back into running. Heck, this was my first "race" in nearly a year! Darn injuries! Well, once I toed the starting line things err... changed.

First mile - 8:05
Second mile - 7:05 OOOOOPS!
Third mile - 11 and change. Ha.

I felt sooo good after the first mile that I tried to maintain that pace. I guess I got carried away. Ooops. Nice to know I can go that fast and not feel like I'm laboring however. Nice to "let it rip"! :)

But darn, did I ever hit the wall on the third mile!
Post race
Warm down:

Gasping for air and cheering Lisa on!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I haven't ran in like, forever?

Event comments:

I had a blast. Lisa is so cool! She bought me a smooth GUINNESS at the sponsoring Irish pub. We talked for an hour at the bar as we watched basketball and listened to live Irish music.

Man, how I miss racing and competition. The buzz. Oh my. I'm such an endorphin addict.

Knee is "ok". Calf is a bit tight. Hum.

Yay!!! You ran, you raced, you had a Guinness. If only you had bossed someone around in the pool, your day would have been PERFECT. Close enough, though, eh?  :D

Hey mate, great to see you racing and most of all, having some fun.  Somehow I knew where that report was going when you said "and it NICE and EASY".  I think you and I may be from the same gene pool...I'm exactly the same...NO SUCH THING as "nice and easy".
