Good morning everyone. Just got back from a LSD ride (long slow distance rather than the drug that is!). I wish you all a great day of trainning or race prep. Good luck to everyone who has races this weekend!

run again today.
going to try Paced Intervals on a track this morning. I feel the need to do something to get my running faster. Not that I'm a speed demon in the water or on the bike.

Make it a good day!

So I'll do that tomorrow.

Good to see your back Jack, that's the fact. LOL

Anyone who is racing this weekend, Good Luck and have fun.

a well earned rest day for me. I was going to head out in my kayak for a while, but it's cold and cloudy. If it warms up later I'll go anyhow. only 10 days until school starts again, so I want to make the most of it.

Swim training, going to take it easy on my feet today, no running. I have a 5K road race tomorrow, and a 4.5 mile hill climb race on Sunday, that'll be enough for my feet for a weekend. I need to build up my running speed, so I'm going to shoot for 25 minutes or better in the 5K race, that would be a PR for me.

Travel day, no training. GOOD LUCK to all racing this weekend! And now I know you've lost it Max. A hill race? Sounds painful. Anyway, appreciate all the encouraging words and I'll be reporting in when we're back. ;-)

Did a 3/4 brick last night (12 mi on stationary bike, 2.4 mi on treadmill) so I need to sneak a 4 mile run in today. That'll put me at 60% of last week's volume. Maybe I'll do fartleks. I need to do strength training too but I need to be careful of my shoulder. It's hurting a bit. Oh no, I'm in a quandry. It'd be much more fun to do fartleks outside but strength training occurs in the gym! Arghh!

Hopefully, I can get it all done in under 1.5 hrs so I can skedaddle on home and have a BEER (and a hamburger and other miscellaneous stuff that's bad for me)! Now, if only I could get my cats to let me sleep past 6:30 am tomorrow, I'd be thrilled.

It is so nice reading through everyone's posts...I get to see that I'm not the only one with a hectic life!! Sorry about the basement full of water Andrea! Ouch. When I see all the rest of you doing battle with all the chores and hassles too I keeps me motivated to do the same, AND keep training just like you are. So thanks! Going to try to get in 30 miles on the bike today with some serious hills before the rain starts again this afternoon. Good luck everyone with your training today.

Happy Friday to all!
Today I slept in instead of going to masters swim but my dear hubby is taking care of our young one for the morning and I am going to the pool to do the masters workout on my own anyway - yea! (the workout is written up on a grease board near the pool)
Have a great day everyone

Tonight I run - hopefully 5 miles. I may shorten it though because I want to do a long brick in the AM. Want to be fresh and ready at 6AM.

I love this sport! What could be better than starting your weekend with a long brick?

Hello All! Good luck to all who have races this weekend. Umbach, kick butt on your first tri! Yeahhhh!Well, I'm back in the groove again! Woo Hoo. I was listless for a few days before and after the tri. Couldn't get motivated. I've decided that I have to work out in the morning. It's the only way I get motivated to do what I need to do. Anwyay, got back at it this a.m. and ran for 20 MINUTES! I know all you 10K+ers out there may think that's nothing but that's the longest I've ran without walking ever. Felt really good. So of my 30 min., walk/run routine I ran 20 min nonstop and 4 more min. at the end. Woo Hoo. Did 2.20 miles. Then it was to the pool to slam out 1000 m. Yeahh Doggies. Was fast and furious at 23 min., that's almost two minutes faster than yesterday. I'm back on track guys and it feels good.Have a happy training all and good weekend. Good luck on races this week. Yeahhhhh! It's so good to be alive!

Yup.
Niiiice.
Both doing Oly's on the 6th!
I'd get a friendly wager going on split times but figure you'll smoke me....unless you wanna give me some kind of handicap???
Friendly wager over some of Sonoma County's finest microbrews shipped to Akron or some of your microbrew shipped out here????

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

UNLESS...we both set personal goals and if we both meet them it's just a straight beer swap! HA!

Last night's swim club session really knocked me out this morning so just did my 55min easy cycle this evening - had to push myself to get out there but soooo glad I did as it was just what I needed! Just found out my new car comes 2 days early next week so totally excited now!

Good luck all you racers this weekend!
