THANK YOU!!  It's all about keeping things simple...like how a child keeps things in a simple perspective.

my interest in work has dwindled considerably since i found this site..  sigh..  i just can't seem to take an interest in my job anymore..  if only i could get paid a living wage to surf bt

I have no idea what you are talking about here.  That's just insane.

i NEVER posted anything on a BBS site or a chat room until I came here..

Ditto for me too.

now i've found a world full of distractions and things to keep me from doing what i SHOULD be doing..

Once again, this concept is completely foreign to me.  I don't know what you are talking about.

Lara - 2006-03-24 4:48 AM a 'living wage' varies on the region you live in etc..  that being said..  i can support my family and pay my student loans on about 55k a year..  which is bet is wayyyyyyyyy less than what most BTers make..

What is this "work" that you speak of? I thought BT was a requirement for all careers, isn't it? 55K a year?!? is that a single household income? Feel at easy, you make more than me and you can race faster too.

Good Luck in your BT career,
Adam

Well God Bless you for taking care of your family the way you do. I know many people that wollow in self pity and complain about eveything. But then they are also highschool dropouts. I go through the same in the summer, solo income, my wife is a teacher. I figured why worry about paying student loans.....I already have my degree? Life doesn't work that way, oh well. And I'll let you know about my first sprint tri.

Let me know when you get your first BT check, hmm any benefits involved here?

BT is the ONLY thing that keeps me coming to work. I need you guys/gals (especially the gals) to keep me on my toes about important social issues (like lifting the toilet seat, and folding laundry, and washing my hands between the two)

Why would you wash your hands before lifting the toilet seat just because you folded some laundry first?

Come to think of it...toilet seats go up?

A hellava lot more than what I make.

i KNEW posting my minimum salary requirement would get me into trouble..  truth be told i worked VERY hard in school and VERY hard in my career (until maybe 2 years ago)..  i'm just trying to motivate myself to get back into it..

Here is the median income information for my metro area..  As you can see I'm still WAYYYYYYYYY below the median income for my region.

 http://www.newurbannews.com/PortlandMar05.html

March 2005

The most recent figures obtained by New Urban News show that US metro areas have a median household income of $57,500 and a median house price of $225,000. In Portland the median income is $67,900 and the median house price is $201,000.

Well, remember that I'm still in school and only work part-time. As a matter of fact it is a seasonal job and I've been let go until September.

At least your median home price is a sane one.  According to the San Francisco Chronicle on March 17, 2006, the median price for a single family home in this area was $637,000.   There's a condo for sale across the street from me that doesn't have washer/dryer hook-ups in it (yes, you must use a coin operated laundry), and it's listed in the $690Ks, after 4 price reductions from it's original listing price of $800K.  Sad...

That's why I left San Diego

I was NEVER going to be able to buy a house there..

Trust me, I am giving serious consideration to relocating when I graduate.
