Gosh, I am getting excited and I am not even racing.

All you BT'ers out there that are racing better post your bib numbers so the rest of us can follow along on race day.  Then in your head, you can think about all the BT cheers you are getting over the internet on race day.

Good luck everyone!!!!!

Diane

An observation:  I've been on this site for a little over a year.  Over that time the number of "Beginner Triathletes" who are competing in Iron distance events has increased.  And increased dramatically.  Look at the number of BT'ers in IMAZ.  I'm sure we'll have similar lists for IMCDA, IMUSA, IMFL, etc.

Good luck to all competing in IMAZ.

eafilomeno is #319

Doing an Ironman, but still... definitely a beginner!

Good Luck to all repeat and first-time IM racers.

May your stroke be strong, your spokes be straight, and your strides be plentiful.

I'll be watching the coverage all day and hoping to hear your name called as you cross that finish line, *especially* Dana.

Does anyone know if the wiggle wireless thing will be available for IMAZ so I can get the phone updates?

Thought you all might be interested in a couple of excel files that calculate your locations and time on the IMAZ 2006 run and bike course.

A good way to let your family and friends know approx. where you'll be throughout race day.

http://www.aztriclub.com/links.htm

If you have any problems with the files let me know.

This is what you do when your not sleeping great.

How exciting!!!
Good luck to all of you who's racing in IMAZ

2 questions:

1. Do you have to register for this one the day after the race a year before, just like CA, WI, FL, etc.? Or does it stay open a little longer? (since it's so early in the season)

2. Do you have to live where it's warm in the winter to train for IMAZ? Any of you had to ride mostly on the trainer and swim only in the pool through the winter?

I am considering this race for my first IM (2008), because I can drive there from Denver, and I like the bike course profile, but there is no way to get open water swims here in the winter, and often it's too icy for riding in the winter...
