OK, flights are booked. We are going to do what we did in '07 and spend 4 days in Maui post race. We have a condo we are sharing with another couple and Tri Bike reservation is done. We even have a mini van rented.

Hey Bryan, congrats!! I just started visiting B.T. since getting my lotto slot. I did Arizona one year with you and followed your race when you had the flat tire (or was it two flat tires) and still got a slot! Glad you are going to Kona again this year. I'm at LAX now heading to Hawaii and looking forward to an afternoon swim today. Run tomorrow around diamond head before heading out.

153 days. 17 hours 33 minutes 10 seconds........ Last time I checked :-)

I really need to book TBT and airline tix.  But I'm closing on a house Tuesday and that has sucked up all my extra funds!  I guess it will have to wait until closer to the end of the month when my credit card closes!!   I actually haven't even registered yet...So, that's about $2k I need to spend sometime soon...yikes.

How's everyone doing?  If you're following something like a 20-week plan like me, you're in official training mode!  I started a BT program and just finished week 1 (I had to bump it a week earlier since I'll be out of town and unable to train much next week).

I'm dealing with some metatarsalgia issues (stemming from my first IM three years ago)... but I'm hoping I can work through it.  A bit scary to already be having some pain.

Gimme an update and hope you guys are kicking !

I finally found this thread!!!   Another Lotto winner here!!!  This will be my 4th IM.  I still have to book flights, rental car, Condo and all.  I am going to use TBT for my bike.  I have used them 3 times and it is by far the best thing in my opinion.  I still have to go to Lubbock for BSLT 70.3 if a few weeks to qualify my slot.  I am way behind in my training due to Travel to Spain for work but I have been in this position before and know what I have to do.  Luckily, training in Texas all summer will get be ready for HEAT and Wind!!!!

Congrats Eddy!  I love to see another lotto winner here.

So by my count, we have six (maybe seven) BTers that will race in Kona?

Jen - lotto
Dale - lotto
Kevin D - lotto
Eddy - lotto
Kevin B (me) - lotto
Bryan - qualified

Bethany?  I've seen ya post a couple of times, but not sure if you're racing.

Am I looking at this correctly?  I just like to have all the cards in order before things get going full steam.  Smile

Flights for me, my wife and 3 kids are officially booked using AA Miles!!!  Cost me $62.50 out of pocket!!!

Rental Car Booked!!! (Taxes and fees in Hawaii are outrageous!)

Qualifying race in Lubbock and Hotel Booked!

House in Kona is in process of finishing booking!!  Just waiting on paperwork!

Still need to sign up for the race, Long Course Camp in OK., TriBike Transport, and renew Tri Clup and USAT memberships!!

Oh and I guess I better keep training and get my 2 year layoff turned around!!!

Hope everyone is getting great training in!!  N. Texas is perfect to train for Hawaii, HOT and WINDY!!

I may as well weigh in here to help & build the excitement. I qualified back in September, at Wisconsin. Travelled over from ireland to do the race & won my age group. Will be my 3rd trip to the Big Island & sixth ironman (Austria 09, Hawaii 09, Germany 10, Hawaii 10, Wisconsin 11).

Flights booked, along with a trip to vegas on the way home. Staying in Kona Islander Inn, less than a 0.5mile from pier.

I was contemplating NOT adding this race to my logs for a little while.  The shock of it has not set in.
