Pre-race routine:

Normal wake-up routine... knew we would be at least an hour and a half before race so I ate breakfast, bowl of Wheaties w/ soy milk. 20 min drive to event.

Race was scheduled to start at 0830 but got delayed 15 min, not a big deal it allowed it to warm up a bit more.

Event warmup:

Warmed up with the usual cold race day routine: bouncing around and rubbing my hands together :-)... Some light stretching to stay loose.

Comments:

Started in the back corral with my wife, just to keep her company until the start. Took 4:23 to get to the start mat, not a big deal but the traffic was bad the first 1.5 mile then it opened up some. Pushed it pretty hard when able and made up for some of the lost time.

What would you do differently?:

Would like to see what I could have done without the traffic - next time I'll move up into my corral just before the start to avoid the hassles.

Warm down:

Cooled down with a water bottle and a banana then walked up and down the finish zone watching for my wife to finish.

Course:	Busch Gardens Williamsburg Location. Course was a little weird... periodic legs of running thru parking lots and out and backs down park perimeter roads, then sections thru the park itself. Lots of music playing thru the park sections which was cool. Course was filled with rolling hills.
