Hi Folks,

Sorry, I keep forgetting to check into this thread!  I just looked back, and I said that I was counting cross country skiing as running if it snows when I posted my goal.... So if skiing counts, then it looks like I'm almost done with my challenge!  Sitting at 48.35 miles done out of my goal of 50 miles for the month.

And I have a half marathon on Saturday which I believe will count for 50% more mileage, so I'll easily hit my run goal even if I don't count the skiing miles!

Thats Great

Yep the Half would yield a 50% bonus . That's cool when on the slippery slope do what makes sense

You could , may i suggest ... up your goal since there is still a whole week left

Kind of need the GOAL carrot to get out running .

I started another round of antibiotics. The shot didn't quite jump start my immune system all the way -- my lymph node on the left side of my neck started swelling again a couple days ago. Man, that really, really, hurts.

Anyway, it's calming down finally. I ran 6.67 miles yesterday and took a 40 minute spin on the trainer this morning as a kind of recovery.

I'm sorry, team. I'm not going to make my goal. It's been a tough January for me. My bout with strep throat really took a lot out of me. :-(

It's just for fun! Recover and do what you can, and then come back strong for the February challenge.

OK I'm back on track.  Son had thrown the family in a tizzy, had the Flu starting 2 weeks ago (Tamiflu), then last Thursday we took him to the ER with another 103.7F fever.  Turned out he has double lung bacterial pneumonia and he's finally on his way to getting better.

7 days left for 7 run sessions to meet my goal...Tongue out

Oh no!  Poor guy.  I had pneumonia last year in one lung.  My temp went up to 105!  It was a bit scary and it hurt.  I hope he heals fast.  It took me a few months before I was feeling somewhat normal again.

Yikes, that's rough!  Glad to hear he's getting better.

I did an almost 5 mile run this morning and should hit my goal on Saturday!

if you have rough time getting out of the door to train perhaps you should include this Team MACCA approved morning cereal in your diet

Got another run session in today.  Work is crazy (off at 10:15 last night) and on call for 2 weeks on top of it so the name of the game is fit it in the morning before the phone starts to ring or like today when I choose sleep over running in the morning to fit it in when you can.  I fit it in between two conference calls with the last run interval and the cool down while I was on a conference call on MUTE waiting for my turn.

Git R Done!

I feel behind a little bit 1st sick and 2nd job interviews and lesson prep for the upcoming term - but I'm back! Had a great workout last night. 30 min each SBR. 8/13 runs complete. I plan to complete at least 10/13, but maybe a couple extra if my feet are feeling good.

Any ideas for next month?

WOW Great Job EVERYONE , we have a lot of committed hard working teams here . I am so proud
TEAM MACCA is looking strong in first TEAM CHRISSINATOR pulled up to Second Place and TEAM CROWIE is also running very well in thirdplace ,

If your running is on fire and you hit your goal (100%) early you can help your team by keeping running and posting a higher amount completed than your goal . This "overacheiver" bonus could be worth up to an extra 5%

Unfortunate ately. Itband / sore hip and knee has slowed me down. I've started some intensive art therapy with a chiro and will hopefully be on the mend soon. Still excited to be cheering everyone one on, although feeling a little jealous as I'm missing running.

I like berries in my oatmeal. I make real oatmeal and throw in frozen berries at the same time as the oats, let it return to a boil, and then reduce to low heat.
