I am new to the forum but in for january. i am 6' 210 i did 2 sprint distance tri's last year and did well but was about 10-12 lbs lighter. i am a big cyclist so getting my cycling in isn't a big deal, i just need some help getting my runs in really. I am debating on what the best method to get the weight off is. I have adjusted my diet for january and i know this will help. rode 65 miles yesterday in a group ride debating what to do today. Anyone have any good work out programs so i can dump the clyde class.
currently 210.8 January 205 goal 195

Great job. Great name too...lol
I find when I run on long runs and keep my heart rate about 135-145 And get several of those in. I pull off the most weight doing that. However if I am peeked out on weight. Long hours on the bike work for me as well in that same heart rate zone. At least that is what I learned when I went from 279lbs down to 210 lbs.
I slipped and gained some weight.... Long slow easy runs work best for me. That and some good friends to run with or a great selection on the Ipod.
Welcome to the club... I am back on track after a long break from here. |

6 | Subject: RE: Team Skinny: Jan 2012- Happy New You! yeah i think the problem with my rides is that my heart rate is up 2 high. i am in the 160's average and when we are pushing 30-32 definitely in the 178-184 range. i know when i run that my heart rate is to high to burn fat what should be my heart rate goal while running. 140's? i am 27 as i know that is a factor. open to all suggestions just hate the fact that my dress pants are tight on me and know that 8 lb.'s will make a world of difference. |

My "official" weigh-in day is Wednesday, although I'm quite guilty of the almost daily weighing habit. I just came back to BT after a long hiatus. Thanks for the welcome. |

After a quick battle with the flu on Friday morning I got back to some consistency with my workouts and ate much better than I have been. Hopefully a good result on Wednesday Rode long on Saturday, but went to the tri club party and drank and ate a little too much. Ran trails yesterday but work stress drove me to yogurtland... holding steady still but up a little and not dropping anything My wife and I walked last night before dinner, and we're both losing weight and both down about 20. But we're also both right now in "wobbler" zone, where the excitement of losing is kinda gone, and we start going back into old habits (we've been together a long time, through fat and thin, and are good enablers ) Just struggling with it, a bit |

Expert 2189 Dodge County, MN (out in the corn) | Subject: RE: Team Skinny: Jan 2012- Happy New You! Week went OK for me. I'm down about 2 pounds, so that's good. The not-so-good part is that I'm still rockin' the crutches and probably won't lose them until next week. Progress is going slower than I'd like. I've got 2 days left to get early registration for Racine 70.3. Doc says I should be good to go. I'll see what he says on Wednesday and then decide to throw my $$$ to WTC. I really am finding it tough to maintain or lose a bit on so little training. |

I haven't been perfect, but I've been really good about having a healthy breakfast & salad for lunch. Being back to my normal routine has helped a lot. I have a very limited amount of time to eat at work. |

Starting weight (Jan 2) - 198.2 Current - 195.6 January goal - 189.8 About 4 years ago, I celebrated becoming Athena ineligible on BT, coming down from a previous high of 205+. Spent a year or so at fighting weight (145-150). An injury, a bit of depression, and a bad reaction to medication finds me here, now, up 50 pounds. Long-term goal....sub-Athena. |

I started 1/2 marathon training on Saturday (4 mi), went on an 18 mi. bike ride on Sunday (my first ride since mid-October), and started boot camp on Monday. I may have taken the "dive in" a little too literally! My left hip flexor is so sore, I am walking with a limp. My coached run tonight will be rough, but I will get through it and then go home and soak in the tub so I can be ready for my second boot camp class on Wednesday (which hopefully will not include laps!). |

Regular 92 Brooklyn, Michigan | Subject: RE: Team Skinny: Jan 2012- Happy New You! Start 12/28/11: 205 My knee is acting up...which is something completely new. I think I tweaked it when I tripped over my dog behind me, to miss my running kid in front of me. I'm a bit klutzy at times. So, since I can't jump in my lake and swim I'm going to get a membership at the rec center near work and take some swims at lunch. Can only get in about 30mins, but something is better than nothing right now. |
