Subject: RE: About to lose Clyde status... The most important piece of advice I can provide is consistency. It will be a long consistent effort that will help you drop the weight, but it will come. Some times it will drop like a rock, and other times it will float up a bit. But long slow workouts with some basic changes in diet will put you on the right path. Expect that you will be hungry at times and that it is ok to eat, but try to eat healthy smaller meals. I've never been a fast food person so that wasn't an issue for me. Increasing your veggie and fiber intake will help... I had the benefit of being a long time athlete who took a long break (12 years) and let myself slide a bit... I didn't have that much to drop but enough that I feel 100 times better. Keep a journal or a blog of your progress and take pictures along the way. While it will seem slow at first, the before/after will be a great reminder on the progress you've made. EJC10012 - 2012-02-22 4:39 PM congrats on losing your status. I am just embarking on my journey and was wondering if I could get some insights from you more experienced athletes. I am completely new to Tris and plan to do my first Sprint Express in April (completed my first 5k a couple weeks ago and got a couple others in the coming weeks leading up to the Tri in April). Currently built like a lineman, 6'4" 330 and want to get some insights on where I can find a reasonably priced wetsuit that I can use until I drop some lbs and it doesn't fit me anymore (I hope). Any thoughts on cut, thickness, etc... would be great. For at least this year, I don't foresee getting outside of Southern California for a race. Thanks for the insights and guidance and help to an incoming Clydesdale. Erik |
