I just purchased the ISM Adamo road saddle for my road bike, that I have tried by best to convert into a TT bike (I know that is not entirely possible). Does anyone have experience with this saddle? I have not tried it yet, but wanted some feedback.

great saddle ! I have the Road model on my TT bike.

I started with the Adamo Race and it was too hard on my butt, so went with the Road (more padding) and love it.

I did Ironman on it, so it's good enough for any race for me.

They have a instructional on the Adamo website on adjusting the saddle for best comfort.

What kind of advice are you looking for? Such as, How it fits? How long to get used to it? How to install it?

I just got the road saddle too. Only used it on the trainer so far. I absolutly cannot wait to get out on the road with it! So far though, in my aero bars is wayyy more comfortable.

I've been using the Adamo Road saddle on my roadie for 9 months now (~1000 miles) and it has served me well.  It took a few rides to adapt to it but after that, no comfort problems whatsoever no matter what the distance. =)

I never could get my old saddle to position correctly, think it just sucked! I've got about 180 miles on mine and I love it!!! Took me a few rides to get it in the right spot, but once it was there, I knew it without a doubt. I've seen some people post thst it takes about 200 miles before you are sold on it, but not for me. I was sold on it once I got it in the right position.....I got the Typhoon model.

I've also got an Adamo Road saddle and can tell you that I will have one on every bike I own from now on.  It did take some getting used to at first, but now that I've had it for 2 racing seasons, I won't have anything else.

used the Adamo Road all last year and it was great!

since I can never leave good enough alone....

just bought the Adamo Prologue (a little thinner and a bit squishier) and absolutely love it. Just seems to fit my 'sit bone area' better.

I've had an Adamo racing saddle on my Cervelo for several seasons... it took 2 rides of about 40-50 miles each to acclimate to it.. after that, you can be on that thing for 6 hours, dismount and not even feel like you've been on a bike.  It is THAT good.

enjoy,

After seeing a few other posts that less padding is better for the Adamo.  I gave it a go, now  I always bike in my tri shorts.

Same here!  I just got back from my first 26 mile road test with a Prologue on my Slice 5.  Felt really good just like the Adamo Road.  =)

Like all saddles, it works for some, not for others.  It works for me.

Love my centuty X loged 5000 mi. on mine last year and looks like new.   Some of the other models have a wear issue on the nose. The Century and the Typhon didn't.  Unfortunatly, I think they just stoped making both.

One mistake I made when mounting mine.  Make sure you make the rails level or a slight down tilt to start.  Don't level it from the top of the seat.

Still struggling with my Adamo Road on my TT bike. I *think* I'm sitting on it as intended, perched on the prongs at the front of the saddle. But I still find that it gets pretty uncomfortable after a while. I'm trying to ride it more often in order to toughen up the relevant parts, but I'm not yet feeling the comfort that others are reporting.

A few comments:  First, yes it takes a while to get used to.  This is true of all saddles, IME.

Second, I'm not sure that 'comfort' is the right way to describe the feeling you get when it is working.  I would describe it more as the feeling that one can hold the position for the desired time without it compromising performance.

Third, I have two somewhat different positions that I adopt on the saddle.  For easy pedaling I sit a bit further back on the saddle, so my sit bones are a biut more on the wider part of the saddle.  For hard pedaling I move up a bit and my sit bones are on the prongs.    That's definitely a more 'intense' position, but I can hold it without sacrificing performance for 40K.  I think it could make sense to start off by sitting further back on the saddle, then move forward as you get used to it.  In any case, the absolute key (for me, YMMV) is to be sure that the primary weight bearing points are my sit bones.

Thanks! I'll keep trying. I'm fairly far forward on the saddle as that is how the fitter set me up. If I go further back my pedaling becomes rather more labored.

When I say that it's not comfortable, I mean that the prongs digging into me can become unbearable. I did get more acclimated, such that I was able to complete an HIM bike leg on it last summer. But it was always the case that after I had been riding for a while I dreaded bumps in the road, as they were painful if I rode over them without standing up.
