Some weeks I feel, and other weeks I'm sure, that I spend far more time talking about SBR than doing SBR.

True some of this is time I could not be training anyway... but I'm curious if others are the same.

Other than with my wife, my SBR talk time with other people is very small.  I don't talk about it with co-workers or friends unless they specifically ask.

Now time spent on BT, well that is another matter.....

Well, to clarify I consider online communication Talking.   BT, ST, FB, and other two letter acronyms.

I'm in front of a computer all day, every work day... so I spend WAY too much time on here.
I'd have to triple my training to equal my talking time.

"Some weeks I feel, and other weeks I'm sure, that I spend far more time talking about SBR than doing SBR."

This is so true, especially in the U.S. and especially among new athletes. They banter, obsess, discuss, banter some more... Maybe one day a week that actually get out on their bike. Then they get a saddle sore and get back on the forums to ask what saddle they should get.

Bless their hearts. Money mouth

Seriously though- the Nike thing has never been more true: Just do It.

You aren't going to hurt yourself by training too much. To train too much you'd have to do so much training you wouldn't have time to be on the forums asking about it.

Also- most of us just need to lose some weight. American recreational endurance athletes are porkers- and that includes me (5'9", 165 lbs- that is 20+ pounds overweight by endurance athletic standards).

Same here.  I have four monitors on my desk at work, one of them displays my favorite sites and I refresh BT about once an hour.

Only once an hour??  That's a good way to miss when a thread goes viral.

Way, way more time training. I do BT instead of watching TV in that 30-60 minute window between dinner and total collapse.

Me too, that's my number one speed workout I'm doing this year is to lose 20 lbs.

I was going to lose 10 lbs, but since they changed the weight limit for Clydesdales I don't have to now.  The USAT already declared me fit enough to race AG.
