Comments:

This was a double sprint so it was swim, run, bike, run, swim. BT does not let me enter all of that (I think)_
I think I had a good 1st swim. I most probably could have gone a bit harder, but I was happy with swim #1
What would you do differently?:

SWIM
I have swum 5 times in about 18 months, so I have to be happy with 5 of 34 in my AG, althoughit was more like 60th OA.

No idea about T1 time they were added into run. Had to run about 150yds through soft beach sand to get to my shoes.

Comments:

got to T2 after a decent 1st run.
My front tire had lost about 20% of its pressure. I decided to try and ride the course and hope I could get around. Obv the tire got more and more flat as I went. At the end it was pretty much deflated. The 3 180deg turnarounds were a little iffy with no tire pressure.
Obv this caused me to have a pretty slow bike. Regardless of actual time it was a pretty bad effort on the bike from a wattage point of view. Just like my swim I have only ridden about 6 or 7 times this year, so I really shouldn't expect much. The feeling that it was a bad ride was the fact that I only avaerged ~211w for this, but on a 40mi ride about a week ago I was able to avg 200w??????
Flat tire and flat legs out there today.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I did this race as a fun way to kick start a return to triathlon. it has been 22 months since I completed a triathlon and I have decided to make a return. I am in no shape to be racing, but this was a local race and I got to meet up with an old buddy (Louiskie) by doing the race.
The big take away I get from today is that I have all sorts of work to do in order to be able to compete at Beach 2 Battleship in October. I think my goal for the HIM is attainable, but I am a long long way away from being in the type of shape I will need to be in if I am to reach my goal.
Hey gotta start somwhere.

My big takeaway from all this is that you need a team supporting you...make sure your bike gets in proper working order before your domination at B2B! :-) Seriously though, nice race dealing with some significant issues. You are an amazing runner and it was very cool to see you in "race mode", even though it meant you went wizzing right by me! Happy return to triathlon! See you at B2B.

Looks like you dominated, bro! Nice return to triathlon with a performance like that, especially since your bike was not in proper working order!

Way to go, bro! You're a fastie!

I'm finally getting around to reading race reports.

Well done out there, as always!  You bike better on a flat tire than most people do on two good tires!

Was great to finally meet you in person, albeit briefly.  Glad you are getting back into triathlon and I'm looking forward to seeing you again at B2B!!!

Imagine how fast you'd go if you actually had time to train for these things.

Congrats!
