Subject: 2xHIM in four weeks. What do to in between?

Hi all, I finished my first HIM on Jun 24th (used the BT HIM plan), and I am contemplating  another HIM on Jul 22nd with the only objective to have fun, but not walk the run. Plan B is to go with an Oly.

I did not really plan it that way, so I am a bit lost on what training strategy to follow.

I assume I need to  factor in recovery (which so far has been complete rest) and taper, but have no clue on how to fill these weeks.... Looking for general directions in terms of volume and intensity. 

All suggestions welcome.

Two HIM in 4 weeks?  Wondering what to do in between?  You could probably fit two sprints and an oly in there!

maybe just follow the last 3 weeks of your HIM training plan...ease in with the last few days of this week, assuming you are feeling good enough.

I'd do a reverse taper the first week.  Two weeks at about 75-80% of normal volumes while maintaining intensity.  For me, I would focus more on swim/bike while just maintaining run.  Week four taper.

Easy recovery first week.  (Complete rest is not really ideal, as you want to start moving again.  But nothing hard or particularly long.)

Train 'normal' next 2 weeks.  No intensity much beyond HIM-intensity.

1 week 'taper'.
