As a former Gator, I am seriously wondering what would happen if you could combine the DNA of Lochte and Tebow....  Would it be like some kind of matter / anti-matter collision that would wipe out half of Florida?

That hybrid would single-handedly take the innocence from 90% of the female members of the ChristianMingle.com community.

"The muscles, the nice shoes, the grills with crosses...I couldn't resist!" the ladies would say.

Speaking as someone who's more a Tebow than a Lochte fan, I shouldn't laugh at this, but this was Really Daggum Funny!

ZOMG I watched that "Terrible at Interviews" link and laughed so hard my eyes are watering.

I'm a Ryan Lochte fan. I like him. But I've got to admit those interview snippets made him look extra special dorky.

Is it just me or are these swimmers pretty dumb.  Both the men and women don't seem to have much going on upstairs when they interview.  Maybe it's because they just got done racing.

 

Seems like both Phelps and Lochte are on the arrogant side but they have excelled at their sport so it's not without any backup. 

Easy to judge from an arm chair. Harder to perform when you just invested everything you had emotionally and physically into the culmination of 4 years of prep and immediately afterward someone shoves a mike and a camera in your face. 

Doubt anyone would be terrible eloquent under those circumstances.

 

Just watched Phelps not straight out of the pool and much more eloquent.  It's got to be something with lack of oxygen and all the neurons not firing right out of the pool to interview well.

Check out Brendan Hanson's interview straight out of the pool after getting bronze in the breast.  It can be done well...not everybody can do it, but man, he was excellent.

British prime minister David Cameron was not amused once he heard how Lochte was using London’s Olympic pool. “I was surprised to hear that,” he told Britain's Metro newspaper. “It’s not OK to pee in the pool.”
 
 Lochte has certainly stood by his right to relieve himself in the water. When comedian Will Ferrell called and asked him to make a “Funny or Die” video on the subject, he jumped at the opportunity. In the video Lochte says, “The way I see it, the pool is the biggest, most expensive toilet and it’s all mine. That’s the only time I allow myself to pee. Animals, they mark their territory. I pee in the pool. That’s my territory.”

Amen, Lochte. I know this is a controversial topic, but you try telling you high school coach that you need to get out to pee in the middle of a 2 hour practice. It doesn't work.

I'm not saying it's not gross, but I am saying it's more or less part of the swimming culture.

They get coached about interviews and talking to the press before going to the Olympics.  At least, that's what the Canadian swim team gets.

Ummmmm...... tell that to a majority of BTer's.  Including this one.  Happens all the time.  He just finally said it.  Big deal.
