Total Time = 1h 20m 37s
Overall Rank = /
Age Group = 30-40
Age Group Rank = 8/47
Event warmup:

did a few quick sprints
Run
  • 17m 56s
  • 2.4 miles
  • 07m 28s  min/mile
Comments:

This run course is very challenging so my plan was ez first run & save it for the bike
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really (I really need some speed work.... just think I could be faster if I did some work)
Transition 1
  • 01m 1s
Comments:

I think this was a bit fast cause I was at my my bike when I hit my lap button... it was more like 1:40
What would you do differently?:

I use MTB shoes so they take a bit more time getting on then the standard tri shoes.... so I would get a pair of nice tri shoes
Bike
  • 40m 33s
  • 13.5 miles
  • 19.98 mile/hr
Comments:

We did 3 loops around the park.... on my 3rd loop my calves cramped up soooooo bad that I was forced too slow orange down to a crawl for about 1/2 a mile until the pain subsided... (I've never had a crap before!!!)
What would you do differently?:

1. Not cramp
2. I ride this old burnt orange bike that has down-tube shifters and it weighs a ton...
3. Pair of nice tri shoes would help (I think)

So get rid of the cramping and get a faster bike I could of done better.... but I'm happy w/my time... I originally predicted 1:22 but ended up around 1:20
Transition 2
  • 01m 2s
Comments:

I forgot my race belt.... I'm such a tool.... again the MTB shoes just take more time getting off
What would you do differently?:

See comments from above
Run
  • 20m 15s
  • 2.45 miles
  • 08m 16s  min/mile
Comments:

During the run I could feel myself cramping up so I backed of just a bit.... I think it was the best choice...
What would you do differently?:

I would like to get a pair of racing shoes for these shorter distances
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

1. Bike
2. Cramping

Ah. Yeah, actually my chain mishap wasn't on the dam hill, but on the damn hill (haha) over where the road went left or we could have rode straight toward the Shawnee Mission Park entrance.

and I maxed out Larry (my bike) at 43.2 mph -by far the fastest I have ever gone on a bicycle... I must weigh quite a bit more than you.. haha

Excellent. Flying on the run and on the bike. You must have been in with a shout for placing if your leg hadn't cramped.

Love the typo in the bike comments, in the brackets. Could be the cause of the huge melon.
