He is donating his kidney today to a mother of four young children.  He didn't tell anyone until last night.

He is my tri-teammate, a swimming coach, a high school teacher, and a good friend.

I am in AWE!

i also have a friend donating a kidney in the next few weeks (it can happen at any time, apparently).

what an amazing sacrifice!  i couldn't even survive the bloodwork needed to determine if i were a match.

Thanks for sharing this.

It's important to know that there are still a few genuine heroes out there, most of whom never get famous or rich for their good deeds.

This is just awesome. I know media are based on "if it bleeds it leads" (so to speak) but I wish your friend and people like him, and the ways to be like them (bone marrow registry etc.) were popularized like that.

I know he didn't do this to get attention, so, if we had an address we could tell him what an inspiration he is to everyone.  You might could pm it to someone if they wanted it?

By the way, I want it.

Awesomeness.  Organ donation is pure awesomeness.

Don't take your organs to heaven, heaven knows we need them here.....said the bumper sticker from the organ donor organization I remember  a few years ago.....
