I saw this on FB from one of my friends from college. The story is below the picture

Mornin, Creeps! Georgie here. Help me get this guy some recognition. He deserves it.

The morning after an attack on our country (be it from outside our borders... or within) leaves us shaken and wondering about the kind of world we live in. But then you see something like this in your own town. A lone runner and his tribute to the Boston Marathon bombings.

I first saw this guy around the Wallhaven area on Market and was unable to get a shot. On my way back from taking my kid to school, I decided to take the long way home straight down Market because I figured he was headed towards Downtown Akron. And there he was. I stopped my car in a lot just ahead of him and as he went by I said, "You rock" and he gave me a big grin as he passed by. That's when I snapped this pic.

You sir, are awesome. And the sight of you brought tears of pride to my eyes. Nice job.

Maybe we should pass this around so that maybe we can find out his story. He should be on the front page of the paper. Anyone know who he is?

Just when  you think you are done crying.  Good for him.

I wore my Boston 2011 Jacket to work today.  My prayers are with the families of those affected.  The Boston Marathon is almost a sacred event to those of us in the endurance sport community.  The quest to qualify and finally running this event in 2011 is one of the choice experiences in my life.  That someone would choose this event to make whatever sick point they are attempting to make is sad, disappointing and must be punished.

Blanda - 2013-04-16 7:48 AM I wear race shirts often, but tomorrow it will have more meaning. I'm going to wear the oldest one I can find. Husband can't wear anything other than his uniform, but I'll have the kids in their race shirts as well.

I'm wearing a race shirt, and I also sent the kids to school in their race shirts. My 6 year old doesn't know what happened, so I just told him that in a race yesterday some people got hurt, so we're going to wear race shirts today to support them. That was good enough for a 6 year old.

I'm just so sad today. Like everyone. Just sad.

I did a therapeutic run last night, but I'll do another today, and another tomorrow. I think it will take a while.

Would have loved to but I work in a professional office environment with a dress code. Which does not mean I support Boston victims any less. Just for the record

There's another page for tomorrow that asks runners to go rum or walk a couple miles to remember the victims.

I ran this morning, not that that is unusual by any means, but this AM I just ran.

I didn't do my "work out", I didn't have my GPS, I wasn't worried about times or pace... I just ran.

Can't say that I wasn't a bit teary eyed, but it felt good to just run.

LIKE!

I wore my marathon shirt today and many of my students asked why. I explained it to them and I had many tough conversations with these teens today. If I wasn't injured, inwould go running, but resting it so I can do my half marathon this weekend. Something tells me this race will mean a lot...

These cowards can't and won't stop us.

Bingo, f--- them.  It isn't going to change a thing about how I conduct my life, except to offer my prayers for those who are the immediate victims of this cowardly act.

^^Exactly.

Took it a step further today, and officially registered for the 2013 CIM (California International Marathon).  I've been wavering for the last couple years making the jump to a full 26.2 (after running a few 10-milers and one Half)...figured this is enough of a reason to run it this year.

I'm in a suit-and-tie office, so I had to wait for my run to put on my Toronto Waterfront Marathon shirt.  I don't usually wear it to run, but this evening I went out in it for a 10k that turned into an 11.  I felt the usual camaraderie between runners - the nods, waves and other acknowledging body language we share - was especially strong tonight.

Taught all day in my race shirt and running shoes and explained the meaning to all of my classes.  Even discussed why its important to not give in to the cowardly acts of a very few truly sick individuals.

Wore my Eisenhower Half Marathon shirt - ran a mile (it's all I'm allowed right now), but if we stop running - the terrorists win.

I'm in casual kind of cargo pants, black kneww high boots and an IM NZ 70.3 top.  Feeling proud.  Then changed into a Omara Womens Triathlon top to go for a 4km run.

Boston.
