Pre-race routine:

Up early try to wake Will. Left house at 7:00am after a 1/2muffin, banana and a large glass of water. Arrived at 7:45 for a 8:30 race. Met up with Karen (Will's PT). Nice surprise. She was registered and hung out with Will while we p/u numbers. Stood around, used potty and got Will to start finish lines.
Event warmup:

Did my Chi joint loosening routine. Walked a 1/2 mile to get to race registration.

Comments:

Ran with Yoshi. Started in the back some. Was crowed d/t single lane road and 500 plus runners. Did well taking the hill. Then some little walk breaks. Walked the zoo saw the Rhino playing, Emu's, Kangeroos, and croc's. The polar bears must have been off chasing the other runners. We can down the hill and hit a flat along the pond. Yoshi was about to give up and walk the rest of the way but then the crowds cheered her on to finish.

I let Yoshi get ahead a little to let her finish by herself. Another runner was eyeing her to pass before the finish. They both started a little sprint. It was fun to watch.

O'course I didn't watch my step. There as a 6 inch hole in the road and my right ankle rolled into laterally. DOWN I WENT. Yoshi turned to watch and Willie was right there too. It was only 50 feet from the finish line. I hit my right knee and thought it's roll with it or take it force on. I ducked my right shoulder, planted my left hand and did a diaginol somersalt ending up rolling up to standing off my left leg/foot. I finished the race and was little worse for the wear. Put a little ice on the ankle. Not any good road rash or anything.
