Subject: Tucson area question
I might take job over there and was wondering how the economy and the cost of living is. I've done a little research and it seems pretty nice. Any good areas to live at any good schools for my son? I was curious as to what the area had to offer. I see that the pop. Is around 500k which is way larger than where I live. Thanks

Just want to say that from stalking following TeeJay online the past few years, Tucson looks like a great, fun place to live, lots to do, especially if you love the outdoors and TeeJay certainly takes advantage  of the resources there.

I did do the Tour de Tucson several years back and loved the ride!

It's hot. It's dry - which is a whole lot nicer than southeast Texas IMHO

I lived there for some of my undergrad, almost 20 years ago. No car, but the buses are decent.

Mt. Lemmon, NE outside of town, is (was?) the southernmost ski area in the US. Also, it's a great place to rock climb and bike up to.
I was climbing one day, about halfway up the highway. I was getting ready to belay, and I backed right into a barrel cactus!

It might be different now, but back then, you didn't want to really go south of 6th St. Naturally, UofA is on 6th street...

I got about a minute into it and, despite bracing myself against it for months, I panicked. I could not get my breath. I said, "I can't do this, I can't do this."

I went into the pool area (as this was a pool swim) and got body marked. That's when it hit me that I was there to race - this was not a clinic.

The triathletes really inspired me. I watched them in awe as childlike thoughts went through my head like, "I want to do that!" But then reality set in. “Who are you kidding?
