Alright it is not as cool as it sounds... I thought it was pretty funny, and it worked (FOR ME!). I was out biking with my wife on Sunday (95 Mile Ride), and we were both getting hungry so we stopped at a gas station and I went in and bought some Powerbars... and.. and... and (I will get back to that. We sucked down our Powerbars, and continue on. On our last hill of the day (DUTHIE HILL-- for you locals-- about 80 miles in) I told my wife I had a present for myself at the top. She kept guessing all sorts of stuff, but never guessed. Anyway when I got to the top of the hill I pulled out a bag of COMBO'S! Carbs, Sodium, Fats, Calories, and a TREAT! She thought I was such an idiot, but I took about 2 handfuls, and feed the rest to the birds. It gave me such a boost, and when we got back to the car to start our the second half of our workout (short 30 minute run) I felt ready to go.

Just thought I would share. Worked for me, may work for someone else. Don't think I have the BALLS to put them in my special needs bag for Canada, but you never know!

Mmmmm, salty snacks....

I've had cravings for similar things in the middle of long rides - cheez-its, peanut butter crackers, chex mix. I'm probably taking some peanut butter crackers with me on the bike at LP - they really hit the spot sometimes. When you're riding that long, you can just live on foods with names like "power" or "hammer" in their titles (unless they start making powercombos or something like that).

Why not put them in your special needs bag? Anything that gives you motivation is not bad. I had a peanut butter, banana, and honey sandwich in my bike special needs, and gummy bears in my run special needs. As long as your stomach can tolerate it, I say go for it.

This sounds a little healthier than COMBO'S!

I tried them on a long ride too. Man are they dry tho. Lots of water necessary to get them down. since switched to Uncrustables. Tho on sunday I learned a 9O degree pb&J aint the best tasting.

I'm confused.  Why are balls necessary to put combos in your special needs bags.  no one cares what you put in there and even if they did...

well, you probabaly know what I'd say next.
