Subject: Best time for sports massage?

I'm at week 5 of an 18 week marathon training program (Higdon advanced). While I'd like to get a massage every few weeks, finances do not allow / sadface.

I'm thinking the best time to schedule one would be after one of my longest weeks (week 13 is about 55 miles) ...

I go by how I feel.  It usually doesn't correlate after any type of training, just cumulative fatigue.  I also plan on having a session the week before the race.

Yep, I would do it when you're good and sore and tired, but not beat up after a long race, and not before a key workout or race. I'm lucky enough to live in a place where massage is cheap, and I get one (in my home, no less) once a week. Right now I'm pretty much doing a run focus (training for a HM), so I do it the evening after my big speed/tempo workout; if more tri training then after a day with both bike and run. People have different techniques but if it's a really full-on deep tissue massage then it can take a few days to flush out your body and recover, so I wouldn't do it right before a race or important run.
