I didn't watch the whole video but my dad turned 88 this year and he rides his bike almost every day, a couple times a week he rides 10 miles along the local bike trail.  The rest of the time he rides around town.

There's a guy in our bike club in Oregon who's 76 and he's done hilly 50+ mile rides with us. he can do 20+ mph for short pulls when he gets going. He's had two hip replacements, still riding a few hundred miles a week, and placing in his age group in bike races (when there is an age group for him). Not nearly that level, but my mom is 75 and regularly does 3 hour plus rides. She's slow but steady--we put in some 5-6 hour rides this summer in Europe. In fact, judging from her recent e-mails I have a sneaking suspicion that she's been biking more than I have lately, at least in terms of time!

How do you determine VO2 max for cycling? I have my HR zones from a time trial, but don't know how to get VO2 max out of that.

Known for its brutal cadences, nasty sprints and 12-minute hills, the spin class seems to be the perfect substitute for a raunchy ride outside. But is it?

“Less is more,” is a common buzz phrase in endurance sports today. It refers to the trend of training less but focusing on intensity and quality rather than on quantity.

You ride hard enough that you are working but not so hard that you can’t do the same thing the next day. 700 km or 400 miles a week.
