Pre-race routine:

Drove up with 1sttimetri to the start. potty break, gear check.
Event warmup:

simple jog around the area to make sure everything was comfy and situated
  • 00m
  • 50 miles
  •  min/mile

started out comfy for the first 1+ mile and then settled into cruising pace (7:50 - 8:10). windy out and in some spots the wind was blowing the sand from the beach almost right into our faces!

about mile 20ish the feet, especially the left, started being bothersome. by mile 25 was terrible so dropped. ended up at 8:10 pace which is right where i wanted to be, felt find cardio and mental wise but feet didn't cooperate on this day. PT at the aid station was talking silly and nonsense about a boot for anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks. have to go see a sports med doc i guess. looks like my swimming will get an earlier start this year!
