Subject: Surprised how few running stores sell fitting mock turtlenecksAm surprised how few running stores sell fitting mock turtlenecks. I find that a mock turtleneck of decent thickness is absolutely the best underlayer for cold weather running (and biking ). It's crucial for keeping out the draft that otherwise overly chills you when you sweat.
Surprisingly, they're really hard to find on running stores. They all sell loose fitting long-sleeves and jackets, but nary a form fitting mock turtle to be found.
Anyway, just noticing. If you find you want a good underlayer that provides warmth without bulk and moves well, I'd highly recommend a mock turtleneck - I've been running with them for yeras now (mine is 10 years old! ) and it's still my go-to underlayer that provides most of the warmth down to 30F. |
