Subject: RE: Running shoes with more cushioning?I use Brooks Glycerines for my longer runs, and Brooks Ghosts for my shorter runs, and so far so good - LOVE the fit of both!
Due to the structure of my feet, my foot ortho said I had to have the most cushioned shoes I could find. The guy at the shoe store said that Brooks Glycerines were probably the best for me (high rigid arch, neutral gait ). He called them the Ghost's big brother.
Normal size Ghosts seem to fit a bit small on me, but the Glycerines are right on (weird ). Been running in them for a few years now and so far so good. I really love the Ghosts, but for the longer runs I like the extra cushioning. Plus Brooks are pretty durable and don't break down as fast as Nikes.
This was all before the Hokas came around, and I have never tried them on, but I have a couple friends that can now run without pain because of the Hokas...so always worth a look. |
