On Saturday I crossed the finish line of my very first 140.6 mile triathlon!!! It was a three year journey but I did it!!!

But for the first time I have a saddle sore. I've been keeping it clean and dry. Is there anything else I need to be doing? How long will this take to heal?

Thanks!!

Beers to you...I just started my 3 year journey, enjoy the rewards of all the hard work. Perhaps you might look at the sore as a reminder of the challenge you accepted and completed. Time heals all!

congrats on your Ironman finish!

as for the saddle sore, hot bath will help it ooze out...

they go away after awhile. I use Neosporin if it's open, to help heal it.

Congrats!

Boil yourself with epsom salts. Water as hot as you can stand it for about 10-20 minutes.

Often it makes sense to race slower in order to finish faster and at the same time have a more enjoyable Ironman Triathlon experience.

During the race there will be plenty of opportunities to exchange bottles, so I'm thinking about going with the aero bottle and Gatorade bottle and fill up as necessary. What should I do?

My thanks to the triathlete community for being there when I need you. That’s the beautiful thing about triathletes. None of us are all right, and no one expects anyone else to be.
