Great job on finishing a tough race! I did (well, tried to do) this one three years ago as my first HIM and conditions were totally different--43 and raining at the start. I ended up switching to the du as water was also freezing and even with the wetsuit I couldn't get my breathing right during a practice swim the day before. The bike course was also cut to 29 miles due to snow at higher elevations. Rain on the bike and even hail on the run; temps never got out of the 50's. What a difference! That is one tough course--can't imagine doing that in the heat!

When the air horn went off, I did my best to simulate laps in the pool, but that dang panic came over me again, causing me to breaststroke until I could calm my breathing.
