I'll see what happens. Lots of my miles came from cross country, which is now over, so 100 miles might not be as doable. I'll be hoping for the best!

I'll hop in for November.  I've been building mileage for a marathon mid-month (Las Vegas Rock N Roll).

I'll play although this month will be harder for me to get the miles. Mainly I want to join so I can stalk Roland at IMAZ without feeling like a total weirdo.

I'm quite new to running, but I want to built it into my schedule. I'm in, but realistically, 50 miles in a month would be a challenge for me. Here's to trying something crazy!

Give it your best shot! Just be wise about it and don't get injured trying.

I'm in.  I've been fairly absent of late.  I battled a pretty bad case of runners knee over the summer.  It seems to have finally calmed down and am back at it.  I have a half marathon on Saturday.  I am not as well trained as I would like.  Not going to set any PRs but I can do the distance.

Thanks for the welcomes back.  It looks like it's going to be on the cool side for the race (low 40's upper 30's).  I am mostly in this one just to enjoy, there will be plenty of other races in which I can compete.

Looks like you had a good run month in October leading up to this.  You should do well.  Good luck.

12 for me so far. Unfortunately I missed my run today because I was busy packing and moving. How about 5000 miles? Sounds like quite an effort eh? Well while I was driving on a country road today I saw this guy on the shoulder pushing some kind of custom made cart with a big American flag sticking out of his backpack. No way I was going to breeze by this dude. I knew he had a story and I wanted to hear it. So I pulled over and chatted with this guy, Ryan Weldon, who is a Marine Corps vet, walking 5000 miles around the US to raise money and awareness for PTSD. God I love meeting these people. Earlier in the year I posted on BT about the 93 year old ww2 vet running across the country, and now I meet this guy in the same spot of Texas. It must be some kind of hot zone for people on serious charitable journeys. Anyway I was so stoked for this guy that I drove back to my house, picked a bunch of pears off the tree, bought a bunch of dark chocolate and drove back to find him so I could give him a care package and a donation for his journey. Gotta love inspirational people like that.

Keep on runnin strong

Thanks. Going to have thunderstorms but I'm hoping they will start after we all finish and we only have to contend with the rain.

Justin, good luck to you on your race!

Jamie, that is so cool. Really I wonder if there is some hidden trail/zone around you. Our neighbor biked home from Colorado this summer using the trail that runs from Oregon to VA and she explained the maps, the locals, the different things that could be learned by tapping into some sites. And then after reading Wild and the PCT, well wonder if there is something around your area to make people gravitate along your route.

I think life has a way of gravitating people like that towards ME, not the spot where I am, because I frigging love adventurous people like that. Mark my words, I'll be having another adventure like that at some point.

I think quite truly for the first time I 'get it'. It's not just about the fitness. It's not just about the great little endorphin rush as you hit 5, 10, 15 miles...its not just the medal at the end.
