Pre-race routine:

After a PB & honey, Boo Boo and I drove in from Cat City with enough time to park and trot to the line.

Boo Boo knew everything from the parking lot to the line, and was on the end of the leash.
Event warmup:

An easy trot.

Comments:

I was a few minutes slower than last time, but had a lot of fun despite the work. I walked about 50 yards when the road pitched up near the end, the first time ever I didn't run the entire Tram Rd.

Boo Boo was extra happy after we got clear of the crowd at the line, and was on the end of the leash the whole way. I wet her down at the three water stations.

Boo Boo was First Dog!

Warm down:

We said hi to the Front Runners and got some water, then headed down the hill.

Boo Boo wanted to be carried in the crowd, but again was on the end of her leash, running all the way down the hill.

Event comments:

Totally fun race, a must-do. The top finishers are *fast* and show up every year because the race has such a great reputation. It's a fast field. I can podium at a lot of events, but not this one!

The boat was being tossed around. Someone noted that there were whitecaps on the waves. Another guy said, “This is going to be challenging.” I began to wonder what he meant by 'challenging'.
